I removed the right front wheel for the first time since I bought the car in April and noticed that a stud was broken off slightly below the surface of the hub plate. It was so kind of Sears in Murfreesboro, TN, to not point this out when it installed new tires back then. I think the missing portion...

Well, geloktech , you got me on this one... I looked under and around the clutch cable in the engine bay and found nothing. Nor I could find any fuse around the pedal in the footwell. There is a fusepanel in the driver's kickpanel on the left, but these dealies don't control anything that would seem...

Persnickety Problems Probing "Search" Portion

Well, I suppose it is with me/my computer, as I have noticed no other complaints with the "Search" feature. When I click "Search since your last visit", all is fine, and the list pops up. I read one post and then back click and am then informed that nothing new exists. I must the...

Reefer is still in use ? ? ? I thought that went out with the 1938 flick to which I think takza refers....I guess what goes around comes around. I actually saw that in HS back in the '50s and the people showing it were deadly serious. To show the naivete of the times, most of us had not a clue as t...

:D I like the idea of the disco lights! Or maybe horizontal ones that could flash in sequence - or - LEDs that could flash appropriate messages depending on the gender/attitude of following drivers... This is the first time I noticed that the plastic plateholder platform is different on (at least th...

Well, I think you are dating yourself.
I did not realize the Mary Jane euphemism was still in use.
Some of the younger folk may have to Google it for the meaning...

waynehoc - Good writing and XLNT photos ! I had the same result when I installed a new vac advance with overall running and the advance settings being correct for the first time. I'm glad you noted that you tried a number of "previously enjoyed" advances which did not work. That made it e...

Kind of a Twilight Zone moment, what? And the same color as well !
Gotta ask - did you leave a note for the other owner?
Also, why did you move the plate and light to the lower right of the lid? And what is that red area in the normal plate area?

Hello , Fingers ! Check out Advance's site as well. I think it was there that I saw that the Silverstar bulbs (only) were "Buy one, get one free", PLUS the $5 rebate. Dunno if this applies to the sealed-beams as well, though, as I did not pursue it further. I suppose you might Google &quo...

I second takza 's advice - one thing I've added to the procedure for rusted fasteners (which everyone probably does already) is to take my faux Dremel tool's wire brush to the juncture of the bolt and the surface of the item and remove as much rust in that crevice as possible. It looks like it would...
