Re: Planning a Road Trip
I was speaking of these guys: http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=744 I had them on my Celica before I did the project setup, and I have a set in the Terc now. I did have a problem with the uprated bulbs that I bought from them, I'm running Sylvania X-tra vision bulbs now. I also have a pair o...

Re: Seattle Area Tercel 4WD Meet
Oil leak and front end wobble are all taken care of, I'm just a set of brake soft lines away from being completely confident in the car, although the weather can be a little unpredictable this time of year.

Re: Weber Carb Sizing
Considering a Weber 32/36 is designed for engines up to 2.4L, a 32/32 should be much better suited to a 3AC... The 32/36 on mine has major issues during the transition to the secondary, most likely with the drop in vacuum causing a timing stumble. At some point I'm going to be looking into necking m...

Re: Planning a Road Trip
I was going to mention good lighting, a Hella H4 conversion set can be had from Rallylights.com (make sure they're the E-code ones..), best $100 you'll put into your car. I like to keep a gallon of coolant, a couple quarts of oil, and a basic tool kit in the Terc at all times (essential sockets and ...

Re: custum exhaust
Had a loud exhaust on my Celica, got fed up with it after a couple years. The difference between the loud exhaust and a quiet exhaust was a horsepower *gain* and a much more comfortable ride...

Top tip: Pull the fill plug first to make sure that you *can* pull the fill plug.

Re: Junkyards near Portland Oregon
There was an 83 in the Damascus LKQ a couple weeks ago before I left for school. I like cruising down Columbia Blvd west a ways where all of the yards are, I'll spend a whole Saturday out there.

Re: Front engine oil leak
I had an oil leak in the front of my motor, turned out to be the gasket between oil pump and block. A few hours and a little swearing at the oil pan and it was all fixed. I'd replace the front main seal if you're gonna have the oil pump out, they're cheap enough.

Back off the base timing to stock if it's not... If it is, put it at 3°... It'll run like shit, but advanced timing is another cause of nOX.

Another problem with lifting a strut suspension like ours is the extra stress on the sway bar and lower control arms.

Re: help, more hp for an automatic
I haven't driven a stock Tercel, but I've got a Weber in mine and it'll hit 60 before the end of on ramps... It's no race car, but I bet she'll hit 60 in 13 seconds or so... Driving around town is fantastic on just the primaries, the secondaries don't do much besides make lots of noise and waste gas.
Re: 4A-GE
You're gonna need a complete harness and ECU from the donor, fuel system parts would be a good pull too (pump, pickup, etc)... You'll probably have to flare the stock Tercel hard lines and attach fuel injection rated hose to go to the rail and pressure side of the pump. I think you need a different ...
