Re: Long time creeper, first time poster 🤘
That's funny. My charge/brake lights are very slightly illuminated, even after a new alternator. My dome light goes out all the time but then mysteriously comes back. My temp gauge works fine though. Maybe you have a grounding issue? As for cruise control, if i remember right they're vacuum operated...

Re: Halogen Headlight Upgrade
So I'm curious about LED replacements because Wagner seems to make a drop in replacement for these lights. I'm curious if they're any better or not. They're $275 from rockauto. Philips also seems to make a drop in replacement.

Re: replacing 12v outlet
Oh woops I forgot to update this thread. Sorry. It desoldered from the back of the 12v outlet itself. I just had to resolder it. The fuse was intact. I don't expect to be plugging anything with a big load into that 12v again. I bought an inverter that goes onto the battery if I ever really need anyt...

Re: Heater blower speed control
I had my two lower fan speeds not working. Thanks to dlb for the photos, they were a huge help. Took me about 10 minutes to do everything and have it back together so if anyone comes across this know it's a pretty easy fix. It definitely isn't a fix you should avoid doing.

Re: replacing 12v outlet
Nothing appears melted but the outlet was very warm to the touch when the kettle stopped working.
I'll check that 15amp fuse in a bit.

replacing 12v outlet
Hey y'all, So, while camping someone decided to plug a 12v electric kettle into the 12v outlet/cig lighter in the tercel. Predictably it got pretty hot and popped something because the outlet doesn't work anymore. Is there an easy way to replace the outlet? Is there a fuse in there I'll need to repl...

Re: Is this the correct cvs?
There isn't a socket that'll fit? That's what i've done in the past is just found a similar sized socket and tapped it in using that.

Re: Is this the correct cvs?
Thanks that's nice info, atoyta. I'll probably wind up replacing the seals, too. Does anyone know the socket size to get em in? Or any tricks/tips. In case anyone comes across this, this thread had more info on the seal https://tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6484 . Toyota part number ...

It's a pretty solid deal for a pair and I need to replace one of mine.
Do these look correct? I know there's a diameter issue with some of the cheaper/rebuilt CVs.

Re: Small RPM cycle at idle
The RPM cycle has pretty much gone away. It's happened maybe twice since I fixed that leak.
I'll keep an eye out for the mr2 booster/master.

I have to redo a leaky passenger CV and the same CV for me is $97 here in Portland.
All the ones on rockauto kind of scare me because they're really cheap, lol.

Nah the booster seems to work fine.
I still plan on replacing a lot of the brake system anyway so I may look into replacing the booster.
