Re: Doing my first head gasket, How does this 3a head look?

I was always told to not even use Brillo pads, let alone a steel wire brush. just for the off chance of accidentally taking it out of true causing it to need to be surfaced again as well. of course after to many resurfacing's your timing belt wont reach any more. Re: removing belts issues

loosening the nut on the pulley worked. and i think i would recommend that instead of banging on it with anything to prevent damaging it. was easy enough to loosen. And for my purpose of taking the timing cover off i actually needed to remove it anyways to get to the bolt on the cover.

Re: Direction of vacuum flow & routing? + xerdneh''s carb rebuild video refference

If my theory's are right these one way vsv's act to keep an amount of vacuum on one side of them after an amount of vacuum has been applied through them, as air is supposed to flow only one way through them similar to holding your tongue on a line after sucking through it to test a diaphragm valve.

Re: Direction of vacuum flow & routing? + xerdneh''s carb rebuild video refference

also... i have almost no idea what the difference is between the different vacuum ports coming from the carb. except the ones to the EBCV which picks up blow by from the lower of the 2 and puts it back through the upper at the top of the carb intake again. engine side there is a lower port, which is...

Re: removing belts issues

it was the nut on the pulley. just trying to check my timing belts condition, so i'm a little surprised at what i'm having to go through compared to way more complicated cars.

looking like i really will have to remove the radiator too.
