Re: Zach's 1985 4WD Tercel Wagon
Fixed the camber issues up front with some "shims" (washers) that make the all-trac struts fit the narrower Tercel steering knuckle brackets. The Tercel can now sit on the curb! http://i.imgur.com/AjOjtUt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/45W2SHY.jpg http://i.imgur.com/zBGcHt3.jpg It's all ready to g...

Re: my '84 Tercel4wd stolen today!
If you make a kill switch, kindly share the schematic and component specs. I need to make one for my car and the Tercel. Here's a good site: http://www.the12volt.com/relays/page2.asp Forgot to add: UGH, Petros, why would anyone want YOUR car?! j/k, j/k. Probably he just needed a ride or needed a pla...

Re: 1984 FWD abused
I rarely buy gasket kits anymore for this reason, usually you get a lot of gaskets you do not need. This is really good advice. I was told I should get the Toyota engine gasket kit for my 1ZZ overhaul. I now have about $50 worth of gaskets I didn't use. Actually it may be closer to like $75...anywa...

Re: What have you done to your wagon lately?
One thing to keep in mind about turbo and other F/I builds is that combustion temperatures would be much hotter. My Vibe's "factory" supercharger setup includes a cooler thermostat. I can't say whether or not the Petros headgasket mods would sufficiently mitigate the issues with cooling th...

Re: Tercel Art
I'm actually planning to copy that decal design from the white tercel for my BF's tercel, but using Toyota's current WRC colors they're using on TMG's Yaris. Here's the Yaris in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGtRDM5CwCE In livery: http://roa.h-cdn.co/assets/15/05/980x490/yaris_wrc_studio_4...

Re: 83 SR5 (Beat Up) Meridian, ID $500
I guess I have just seen considerably nastier cars for that price. I've worked on much worse (mostly from customers who think floorboards=trashcan). One was a Buick with the rear seats literally filled to the roof with trash, and it was parked in the sun. This one just looks kind of beat up. Heck, i...

Re: Zach's 1985 4WD Tercel Wagon
My car, not the Tercel. My car had a failing front left brake line. The Tercel will be getting the upgrade soon, though, because it needed new brakes even before the rotors rusted "to death". Wish I could steal the "key still in ignition" warning beeper from a newer BMW. Those th...

Re: How...?!?!
I've seen a flexplate break like that due to excessive torque output by a motor, but this was on a Cummins engine. http://i.imgur.com/A4cGoMi.jpg EDIT: Bailey, that's actually a flexplate. Those are thin and fragile. All they do is bolt to the torque converter and crank, and give the starter a place...
