The Cabriolet was a sports car, the forerunner to the Spyder. 1200 engine, 63 hp. Looked kind of like a MG midget but slightly larger. Had a Webber 2v carb that was nearly the size of the engine but it was miserly on gas.

Yeah, back when I used to do traveling for the company, I always got bad headaches when ever I rented either a Neon or a Cavalier. If I drive the Saturn for more than an hour, I have to use a lumbar support. I removed that annoying panel next to my right leg, just ripped it out. Top MPG car I ever h...

I gotta agree with your friend on this. I have a 100 mile round trip commute everyday so I like the 38 mpg and the intake manifold gasket is its only non scheduled maintenance so far. It has been the most reliable car in the family so far, including many Honda's, Nissan's, and Toyota's, though my da...

Interesting thoughts here. From my experience with the Tercel, it does not like synthetic oil. Synthetic oil is to slick to make the syncros work properly. Stick with a good quality dino. I wasted a lot of money learning about this. When I'm driving the terc, I like to upshift through third a little...

I uses a 2:1 Antifreeze to distilled water solution (that works out to about 64% ethylene glycol since it has 4% water in the bottle). The inside of the radiator was coated with aluminum in two years. Part of the problem could be with the uncontrolled alloys in places where these are made. No tellin...

If you are going to replace the camshaft oil seal, you should do the crankshaft oil seal as well. Forget the FSM procedures on this one, it calls for pulling the oil pump, never again. just get a hook and pull the old seal out. Then use a slow drying sealant and push the new one in straight. Be sure...

Why did you have to lift the engine or drop the X member? I didn't do any of that when I changed the transmission. I dropped the rear cross member. Accidently put it back in upside down, which made the driveshaft hit the exhaust pipe and wear a hole in it. Had to put in a new muffler after fixing th...

Front and rear are different. I ordered one and it turned out to be for the rear. They are so different that you can't even try to salvage parts from one to use on the other, I tried. They refunded my money and didn't want the part shipped back.

Yeah, mine was an Isabella, 4 on the tree, carburator stuck right in the middle of the valve cover. Strong engine? I was regularly beaten by little old ladies in their slant sixes, well it did a little better when I put some gas in it, but it was the first car I ever had that went over 200k miles (2...

There are those who think that when God said "Let there be light", I was the one that threw the switch. Actually my driver training car was a brand new 64 Chevelle. My first car was a 55 Bel Air. The most interesting car I've ever had was a 60 Borgward.

I have an 02 Saturn too. Didn't have the suspension problem but did have the idle problem. It got worse and and worse over time until it finally set a code. The requirement to set the code that indicates the problem will not set until it idles for two minutes at 200 rpm above normal. Since I spent v...
