Re: How well does your heat work?

All mine have sticky valves (have to adjust them by hand lol) so either really good or not at all. Silver (the 84) could melt your face off. The 85 gets warm, but its not great. I recall the 86 being pretty warm also. The 87 was too long ago for me to remember but my folks claim that when it worked ...

Re: Engine Swap options

lol... I are so convincing. lol j/k. Gotta remember, for quite some time I talked about trying the 4AGE conversion, but never got the money to try. So I am for it. I don't offroad much. I like to go fast on the paved roads. 4AGE is SWEET for that. A diesel is also, but a custom tranny, crossmember (...

Re: Rear Locker or Limited Slip Options

Even if the bores are the same, the areas of the primary and secondary circuits, stroke or whathaveyou, might be different? I think our pads and calipers are the same as the early MR2? Just different bracket or something? Well, pads I'm 99% sure on. I think the Mr2 or Celica/Supra brakes (assuming t...

Re: Engine Swap options

I want to see you pit a 400HP car that weighs 3000lbs to a 400HP pickup that weights 7000lbs. The pickup will win. It will spank. When the 400HP car has maybe 400ft/lb and the pickup has 1000+ ft/lb, there will be no contest. Put $2000, well placed, into both a gasser and a diesel. The diesel will a...

Re: Rear springs - a solution

I got the standard ones.
Took a while to come in, but worth it I'd say.

Picked the back end up maybe 2 inches from where it had been. The 20mm lift ones would probably work great too. They are a higher spring rate if I remember right.

Re: Rear Locker or Limited Slip Options

Biggest deal is working the front setup. From dedicated RWD to work with the FWD. Disc offset? Anything like that? My 84, 85, 86, and 87 all had the same rear axle. Doesn't the GTS weigh less than a T4wd? If so, to give the Terc the same power as the GTS with its brakes still results in underpowered...

Re: Engine Swap options

Petros, forgive me, but- Get out of the 1980's. Stop stereotyping. Just because you probably drove a 5-cyl NA (or MAYBE a turbo) Mercedes, a dirt-basic engine known to not be the paramount of power and efficiency (but known to last over a million miles) Or a Chevy van with a 6.2L NA clunkertron GM e...

Merry CHRISTmas!

White one, maybe. Might snow tonight. That'd be awesome. But we'll see.

God Bless!

Re: 4AGE swap into 85 4WD

Any updates?
I once saw what equated to a flexplate with a super light clutch assembly attached. Hyper light. Between that and his titanium internals, he'd grab revs like a mad fiend. But the lack of rotating mass made startup hard and getting going took some revs to keep from stalling out.

Re: Engine Swap options

The 1C was a transverse Corolla engine in the 80's. Not sure otherwise. Try Wikipedia-ing Toyota C engine The "L" 2.2 (1L) 62HP, 93ft/lb torque. So that'd result in essentially a similar speed Tercel, just with better crawl and acceleration. Maybe better economy as well. Could always go 2L...

Re: Engine Swap options

Heh. You could always try to make an early pickup diesel engine fit. Mounting adapter and a spacer perhaps?
