Re: Temp gauge q's????

Question to pantah ... You have a high water temperature warning light? So you must have an automatic transmission? The USA (and all?) MTs do not have this feature - could have saved my '83 from my Beloved Sister back in '85... The OM states that it works in conjunction with the AT's temperature - ...

Re: Temp gauge q's????

My 84 did the same thing because the wire was nearly corroded all the way thru right at the sender connector crimp. I have the opposite problem. I get a reading on a cold engine not running that has sat overnight at the midrange of the gauge. It looks like I have a unintentional ground somewhere be...

Re: Heater blower speed control

:D You the man!! Since I live in Panama, this particular item has been just another piece of "unobtanium". I have been looking for two years here. Not too high on my priority list as the top two speeds worked. The smaller of the 3 coils had a break in it. I jumpered it as you described and...

Ventilation not what I had hoped

I found a pop up sunroof from a Toyota Small van of the same vintage. It was a perfect fit. However I had hoped to improve on the miserable stock ventilation, as I got tired of trying to get my a/c to work. It turns out that even though the sunroof glass is silvered and has a black mesh that blocks ...

Here in Panama 18 people died in a bus fire caused by the use of flammable refrigerant used in the a/c. Not a good idea!

Re: Lost my idle circuit....

Went to start my car after driving it the last time and no idle at all. Ended up adjusting the idle screw up so that it will idle sort of at around 1200 rpm. Unless there is some miracle fix someone knows about....looks like I get to use my carb rebuild kit. I've never had this carb off the engine ...

One member uncrimped the edges of the metal "cans" to get to the diaphrams. Using a little silicone gasket goop and some lightweight cloth...you could probably repair them? I tried that with partial success. I think it would just be easier to buy a single diaphragm unit (if i know what to...

Vacuum advance diaphragm substitute question

I have a 3a motor and the vac adv diaphragm is shot (both diaphragms). Question is there a single diagphram unit available that would work? The double units are not available here in Panama, and the single unit would work under most engine conditions, plus maybe obtainable here. Thanks in advance PS...

Where are the diodes that control the brake warning light

Symptoms: Brake warning light is lit all the time, gets brighter when parking brake applied. I have verified that the fluid level and parking brake switch operate OK. I have downloaded the manual which included a wiring diagram. It shows a diode in the warning light circuit. I can't find the diode, ...
