Re: toyota liteace/townace - engine access?
Actually, come to think about it, being a RHD you'd probably want to take the engine out the LF door as the steering wheel might be in the way. This why we take them out the RS as theres no wheel on that side of the NA vans. And Tim doesn't have any of the JDM vans, all his info is NA variant, but a...

Re: toyota liteace/townace - engine access?
DLB - They are indeed the same as the NA vans, for the most part. A good reference for them is Toyotavantech.com (don't waste your time at TVP, hardly anyone goes there anymore) TVT even has a subform just for those RHD vehicles and theres several members with them (and lots of info on them) Seeing ...

Re: Sub frame rust repair?
NWMO - A significant number of new vehicles are being assembled with "glue" but it is specially formulated for the task, JB Weld is not. Go to a body shop supply house and you can get a cartridge of "body panel adhesive", specially formulated epoxy glue with micro-beads to provid...

Re: We did Tercel names, how about Member names?
She doesn't appreciate driving a standard in traffic and had been lusting after the Venza ever since it came out. I think she's crazy, but you know what they say about a happy wife... That said, it had 275Km on it and was going to need a new clutch at some point in the future and I had no interest i...

DLB - The Suzy is doing fine, 13months and 30K later, no issues to speak of. Its no turtle, but compared to whats currently on the market, it is a winner, just too bad they stopped making them. In going after the bigger piece of pie, they managed to alienate their loyal customer base, yet failed to ...

Re: We did Tercel names, how about Member names?
When I first joined this site I was Turtleman, but I wasn't active enough and got dumped off the far end. When I rejoined, the site wouldn't let me use the same name :( Couldn't think of anything in the moment and went with the first thing that popped into my head, really wish I had spent a little m...

Re: Rear Brake Vibration
The few times in my life I have run into this scenario, it has always been an issue with the park brake mechanism. The very fact that you can induce the same behaviour with the park brake lends further credence to it being a brake issue. Did it do this before? does using 4WD alter the experience any...

Re: Installing trailer hitch
Mark - Most small trailers have "1000lbs" springs and will bounce like crazy with a light load, not much you can do other than add weight to the trailer. Installing a set of shocks would certainly help somewhat, at least with the oscillations that occur post bump. Odd about the lights, nev...

Re: nissan axxess?
My sister had one back when they were new, loved it to death.
The only complaint I ever heard about it was the transition between 2 & 4WD.
It was all computer controlled and wasn't as smooth as she would have liked.

Re: steering rack - internal bushing?
Sadly, that pass side rack bush, hasn't been available for years.
I think your best option would be to try to make something, maybe machine something out of a phenolic cutting board.
I never use them for chopping food, but for making replacement bushings, their great!

Re: #7: 84 dlx dream terc
By the way, congrats on finding your dream car. As nice as the Rolla is, my money is on the Terc winning the comparison test. My GV is a very nice car, quiet, stable, comfy and the 4wd works great, but it is no T4. No where near as tough (or as much fun to drive) and the gas mileage SUCKS (decent fo...

Re: #7: 84 dlx dream terc
DLB - I would advise AGAINST the car cover. Better off getting a potable garage. When I put our Jag into longterm storage, I put a hi-tech outdoor ($250) cover on it, thought I was doing it a good turn. It was in a semi-protected area and the cover was well secured. After one year of that cover bein...

Re: green light cover removal
DLB - I found that soaking them in warm soapy water helped greatly, I used a tiny flat blade screwdriver (old enough that all the edges were rounded, filing a new one would also work). It wasn't a perfect solution as I did rip 2 out of 20 but mostly because I was rushing, that said, for the most par...
