Re: any slammed, stanced, or lowered Tercel Wagons?
Damn... Theres nothing wrong with lowering it the way hes doing it. Cut it out guys. I recommended him to this forum and all we're hearing is blah blah lowering is mad mmmkay? His car is awesome. Its not slammed 1/2 a mm from the ground with 45* of negative camber on 22s with cut springs. <- thats w...

Re: The battle wagon
Thanks! I traded a Turbo and $50 for it. my buddy is putting a 1uz in his gts corolla so he swapped in an S10 rear axle as well to handle the abuse. I started looking for a corolla alltrac the moment I read about the strut upgrade several years ago. Ive seen one in my entire life and it passed me on...

Re: The battle wagon
I have found the ultimate upgrade! The unicorn! The biggest and most sought after piece of the puzzle! http://i.imgur.com/9xn8yD2.jpg http://i.imgur.com/SqnIwGB.jpg The rear axle from a 85 corolla GTS! Its got a 4.30 LSD rear in it. Which is good, because the track car (85 cressida) needs a 4.30 rin...

Re: 3a head on a 4a
Alright, so this is a long time coming. It seams that I have created a monster. Yes, a monster. The 3a head is staying on this 4a block. I tried forever to get it to run perfect but it was always just "meh". So I decided to reset to factory specs... I pulled the valve cover, the #1 plug, t...

Re: Front diff bearing?
I know they share the same oil, which is why this is peculiar to me. Oil level is kept topped up. Check it every week or two. I dont drive very far. Maybe 50 miles a week. All drives are over 7 miles highway though. Definately planning to pull the axle and change the gear oil this friday when I get ...

Re: Front diff bearing?
Well, the diff is also kinda loose...it has some play in it. Nothing you can hear, I would know that. (cressida is laid up with a sloppy diff, its LOUD). I also have a dull whiring/wining noise when its cold outside. After the trans heats up it goes away. Its only there when Im rolling, engine on or...

Front diff bearing?
Hey fellas, so quick question...what would make a cv axle wallow around when Its in the diff? What i mean is, I can move the cv joint at the trans, up, down, left, right. Seams there is some play. Would this be diff bearings? Ive got a real slow oil leak there, but its darker than the other one I ha...

Re: General Question About T4wd Longevity...
Id say the only thing limiting the life of mine would also limit my life as well. Im talking about a huge accident that bends the frame or otherwise completely destroys the car. Ive got engines covered, they're a dime a dozen if you know where to look. All I need is the block, I can get everything e...

Re: the tercel and whats next
Holy cow man....Im actually in the middle of this right now. I had a hell of a time getting the old bushing out of the arm. Pressed the center piece out, then burned out the bushing itself. I didnt realize there was an outer sleeve and spent all day yesterday trying to fold it in on itself so it wou...

Found something burried in my manuals
http://i.imgur.com/V3WmOOi.jpg Complete tear down, reassembly, adjustment, and specs for the A-55 automatic that was available in our wagons. I also found the same for the manual trans. No special model number, just, "Toyota Tercel 6-Speed". Continuing on I found all the specs for pretty ...

Re: Why a 87-88 tranny has no third and fourth gear
Well Ill be....I had the same thing happen a few years ago. Kept driving it and it then she got stuck in 5th. Good thing I kept it around. I figured it was something simple, I just never got around to pulling it apart.
Re: Dang.
Just to add to this, if the thermostat is stuck OPEN, the car will never get to operating temp while moving.
