Front Seat Recliner Lever Substitute Sleeves

I found a perfect substitute for the sleeves on the front seat recliner levers: Visit a bicycle store which sells the Electra Bicycle brand. They are not electric bicycles, but retro beach-cruiser types. Or write the Company. It uses these little sleeves to protect the fender stays (braces) in shipp...

Well, Good Luck again ! Not dissin' our little guys, but it must be for the stereo. They're not exactly mainstream-looking cars (like the guaranteed-to-be-stolen Acura Integras), and they are 20 years old, to boot. At least they are noticeable to the cops. Again, Good Luck - keep us informed. Tom M.

Gas Mileage - Almost As Popular As Wheel Size....

Ok - I'm wondering here......... I realize that I have a lot of fiddling still to do, as the carb is a new/reman and I'm feeling my way around the idle mixture screw adjustment - and the motor has 171K on it - and it likes to be thoroughly warm so it won't die at stops (thus wasting gas in the proce...

takza - I will fiddle with the linkage some more, but it seems/feels like there is just one flap which controls the flow to all vents. Can you actually see a vent flap in operation (internally)? waynehoc - I'm sure you checked this, but is the outer translucent cable casing fully secured in that bl...

Jim -
Wow - what a write-up on your link! I skimmed it out of curiousity and will return to it later just for incidental information.
Very thorough, factual, and to the point.

Yep - I just closed the dash vents to restrict the flow there.
I thought the system was misadjusted, but it's just less sophisticated than I remembered.

The brands of the drums are: Wearever, Raybestos, Beck/Arnley, and Bendix.
Five models are shown for the 4WD and seven for the 2WD (plus more for the sedan) ! ! !
No country of origin listed, though.

Advance has a number of different branded rear drums from $25 to $55 each - dunno the difference, though. I would imagine most stores would have the same ranges as well. The ones for the 4WD apparently fit '87-'90 Corollas as well.

I discovered my HIC was bad when I noticed someone had unhooked the flap in the snorkel, allowing the entrance of cool air all of the time. Upon reattaching the rod, the flap would not open. This was in the Summer, and the slow warm-up with the flap always open was not as noticeable (particularly wi...

Nice ! It still amazes me that so many "mature" cars are around in the West / Southwest. Here in MO and the North and the East, it is a rarity to see cars of that age that look so good - running maybe, but not looking good. On my only trips to CA (LA in 1985), I was amazed at not only the ...

Thanks for the quick answer, takza - I know you are a strong proponent of the spring boosters - what is a/the source for them? Neither AZ nor Advance nor NAPA list anything on their sites and I draw a blank look at their local parts counters. I seem to remember these from long-ago Hot Rod Magazines ...

Do you put the Tercels in front of the fireplace instead of sabots for Pere Noel? Le Pere Fouettard never bothers them does he? Thanks for the whimsy!

I've seen pix of the small models, but never of the larger one with the sunroof - who made it?

And a Joyeaux Noel to you as well !

MootsMan - Congrats - I'm jealous ! I remember one thing I read on the Car Talk site - something about if two people went to the grocery store for more than one or two bags you'd need to pull a trailer - true? I recall a pix of their storage area and apart from a tire, it looked like you could put ...
