Re: Terc delight
I picked up a set of Jetta rims yesterday. I just finished painting them white. I really wish they were not 6" wide, I was aiming for 5". They look a little close to rubbing when at full lock....with out tires. http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z64/banesterloren/DSCN08531_zpsec1c232e.jpg ...

Re: new suspension ideas
Sorry for the bump scrapz253, But did you ever figure out why your tercel was running on 3 cylinders? I think your compression should be fine. I've noticed almost a difference of 60 psi from checking compression cold without throttle, to warmed with wide open throttle. I'm also having a 3 cylinder i...

I'll try and call you tomorrow. I'll bring you back a bell housing/diff too. Man just went in the garage to find that my battery ...

Re: Terc delight
Gottolovem- I'm not really sure why we went through Mono? but that's the way we came back last night too. Tercel4wdrules- I replaced the original manifold with another one from the JY. Everything checked out okay on it. Still possible though. The motor is a new re-manufactured motor, so I really hop...

Re: Terc delight
I can't wait to get my Tercel road trip worthy! I'd love to go down to Yosemite.....or even Yellowstone. The car just fits that little town Mono so well, it's almost beautiful.
Oooh, Carson's got an 85 in the yard. And yeah, just the two tercels that you mentioned are left.

Re: Terc delight
dlb- nope, the engine came as is. no oil pan, distributor, nothing, just block, head, valve cover. The rotor and cap looked okay when I opened it up to find the position of the rotor for timing. Is it possible that I could test the distro/ plug wires by connecting the cylinder four position wire on ...

Re: Terc delight
Hey thanks gottolovem. It does have spark to cylinder one, but I think it could still be the problem. it sounds like it is sometimes firing else where in that plug wire before the spark plug...sometimes.

Re: Terc delight
I think I just thought of something even better then my first ideas, but I have to go to work and leave for LA. Crap. Anyways, I'm thinking of making a bracket that connects to the recover tabs (three bolts) and then back into the inner fender well area, where it will bolt into the unit body frame r...

Re: Terc delight
My plan for the bumper is to keep it looking stock. I figure I will make a bracket that includes the bumper to unit body tie ins, and then extends even further into the engine bay, almost to where you see the bolts that hold on the engine cross member. Then take both brackets and bend them perpendic...

Re: Terc delight
WoW dlb! you're a big help. That write up shares a way better idea than what I did the last time i adjusted my toe in toe out. I found the center of the treat surface of both tires and then measured the distance from the fronts and backs of the tires from the centers. I don't think I did to good of ...

Re: Terc delight
Thanks dlb. I've got a shopping cart going on rock auto for those joints and new tie rods..and maybe one ball joint. Ones you've get the sockets loose, can you pretty much finish them by hand?
