Re: Throttle sticking
I know which screw you’re talking about, my one was unscrewed far enough that it wasn’t in contact with the other side at all so I don’t know if that was it or not That adjusting screw should not make contact when at a normal idle, but only comes in contact right after you release the throttle afte...

Re: Throttle sticking
You need to check something else: there is a small diaphragm on the front side (facing the front of the car) of the carb that is there to prevent the throttle from slamming shut (to reduce a spike in emissions). It has a linkage to the throttle shaft with a screw adjustment. It is a simple adjustme...

Re: Throttle sticking
Okay so I oiled all the moving parts and then coated them with lithium grease, the movement was a bit gritty initially and now it’s smooth I also sprayed down the whole carb with carb cleaner It returns to idle now, but if I lightly step on the gas it will still rev up to 1500-2000rpm and hang there...

May be interested in the steering rack. Mine is good but a little leaky. Unless a rebuild kit is more economical? I dunno Maybe a fuel sending unit if it’s not worn down no 4.10 rear end? never rebuilt one of these racks before but i still have the newer power rack. have a sending unit i believe bu...

Re: Gear ratio problem
Both of my rears have 37 stamped on their ring gear so I'm assuming that means they are 3.73 My front is already 4.10 so I just need to change out the rear to a 4.10, which is what I was planning on doing yesterday until I pulled the old one out and found it was already a 3.73 My reverse light, 4wd,...

Re: Performance carb vs stock
32/36 simply means it's a 32mm primary venture and 36mm secondary Usually it correlates with how much air it can flow through it, so I was just wondering if the stock one has similar diameters in which case you wouldn't see much performance gain theoretically (since they would pull the same amount o...

Re: Performance carb vs stock
Yeah I can't tell if mine is running good or not, it is pretty worn and has some oily spots on it from seals starting to leak. On cold starts it has a misfire and I have to rev the engine a few times to correct it.
Is the stock carb also a 32/36? I couldn't find any info on it

Gear ratio problem
My door badge says my car was manufactured April of 1986. The title says it is a 1986 model From my understanding, it should have the 4.10 gear ratio. But I just finished pulling the rear axle and it has 11 pinion teeth and 41 ring teeth. I took off the cover from the blown up front end and counted ...

Performance carb vs stock
So my first tank of gas with the new distributor is averaging me 25+ miles per gallon with the 3.73 gearing and 195/75R14 beefy tires I have a new Weber redline 32/36 kit here that I was thinking of installing, but how much performance gain will I be looking at if I do that? My carb seems to be runn...
