Re: changing headlights to round (h6024) headlights?
Something that would be totally awesome (and unique) would be a set of Hella projectors: http://www.rallylights.com/Hella_90mm_Halogen_and_Xenon_HID_Headlamp_Modules.aspx I put together a custom setup in my Celica and they're *amazing* in terms of light output and beam control. Plus they fit fairly ...

Re: Soon to be 4WD Tercel owner.
Finally got the oil leak fixed, and she's getting a new radiator this weekend (The one in there is totally sketchtastic), I also redid the Hella driving light brackets (I had them just bolted to the grill mounts...) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/Teranfirbt/09272009006.jpg http://img.photobu...

Have you replaced the fuel filter? There's also a plastic screen in the tank itself that might be plugged.

Re: front dif fluid?
According to the handy factory service manual that I downloaded from the home page, the front diff in an auto Tercel is separate from the transmission and uses plain ol 80-90W.

Re: Newb looking for a bit of info on 3A scv
The steel tube has O-ring seals on each end, and they go out rather frequently from what I've been told... You'll want to replace them before it goes back together if you haven't... As far as the holes go, you should be able to push the upper housing onto the tube and the tube into the lower housing...

Damn, if you were closer to the Corvallis/Albany area I'd be down for helping, but Jacksonville is a bit far...
If you have questions about EFI I can probably help though, I've got Megasquirt on my Celica and a fairly good knowledge of Toyota EFI.

Re: One Man Found The T4WD Of His Youth
That's awesome... Sadly the car of my youth (66' Mustang coupe) can never be recovered, it was sent off to the scrap yard when it was stolen, used in a robbery, and then dumped in a ditch. What's funny is my current Tercel is the exact same color and trim level a couple friends of mine grew up in, i...

Re: You Might Own A Nostalgic Car If...
That's the one that gets me, people automatically think they have to slam the door when they get into either my Tercel or my Celica. Just because the car is old doesn't mean the door needs to be slammed to close >_>

Re: Fuel Pump Check Valve Test
Sounds like the problem with my Tercel, if I let it sit for a couple days it takes forever to get fuel back up to the carb... Despite having a freshly cleaned and inspected tank with a brand new fuel filter.

A friend has the Harbor Freight hose clamps, definitely junk....
I'm glad my Celica had metal valve stems from the factory, although occasionally I'll see a set of the GT-S rims that have rubber stems because of an idiot tire guy...

Re: Basic Electronics help?
I doubt bypassing that will hurt the battery unless the charger itself blows up from overheating... The switch is probably bad and was shutting off at a temperature that was too low, or there's a problem with the charger and the switch was acting correctly.... In any case, bypassing the switch just ...

Re: hub centric rings
The holes for studs are RARELY concentric enough with the center hub to be used to center the rim. The only real problem with OEM wheels is they don't have a lip on the inside for the ring to ride in that prevents it from coming out... If there is some kind of lip, you could probably make/have made ...

Re: Aftermarket ammeter
I doubt the Alternator would care. The biggest problem with an ammeter is that you're now running all of the current from your alternator to the dash and back to the battery, there's a lot of wire there, plus the gauge will cause a little resistance. If you're really running some high draw stuff, th...
