The gears are fine its the plastic bushing in the track that is gone. keeps popping out and window falling. The Mailman if you find one with bad gears and good plastic bushings you can cut the arm off and weld it to yours. there are a lot of bad geared operators out there. i'm sure someone will don...

Re: Carb and O2 Sensor...83

Forgive this newbee...but my 83 4WD Wagon seems to be running awful rich...black plugs, oil gets dirty quick, poor gas mileage. With over 350k on the original engine, I am guessing my O2 sensor is shot. Would a bad O2 sensor lead to a rich mix? Could this be as simple as replacing the O2 sensor? ho...

How would a blown head gasket cause over heating?
if the gasket is blown in a manner that allows exhaust gases to be forced into cooling system thus adding extra heat to cooling system. the car will lose coolant. sometimes fast sometimes slow loss.

Re: Thanks for checking on the headlights

Do you have any of the drivers window hardware? specifically, the cranking mechanism. Mines missing a few teeth. those crank mechanisms are getting hard to find. if you do not find one you may want to fix it yourself by making a new gear tooth plate. of course that will depend on your mechanical ab...

Re: Interior door trim panel removal procedure ... ?

I am having a problem with the window regulator on the driver's side door - it's getting difficult to roll up and down. In an attempt to repair or replace it, I need to know how to get the door panel off without trashing the whole 1.remove window handle. i use a thin piece of clothing by slipping it...

front door window mechanisim repair

The mechanisim that rolls the front door windows up and down tends to bind up with age making it difficult to get the window up. If it is not lubricated the binding will bend the main arm making it even more difficult to operate. Forcing the crank handle will eventually cause the teeth on the gear p...

I believe most regulator failure is due to the window glass binding in the unlubed rubber and the driver trying to force the window to roll up with more torque on the crank. Result: stripped gear teeth. i found a wrecked tercel wagon in a guys yard. i asked if i could buy the window mechanism. he wa...
WARNING - This is verbose, even for me.... OK - as many know, I have been having an apparently unique problem of the engine revving to 2200, and then immediately dropping on its own to 1800 and then again going to 2200, ad infinitum. This occurred at rest, or not. So - ...
