Re: front bumper removal
This thread helped me so I thought I'd add a couple pictures of where the bolts are located. I had removed the full headlight assembly including the housing to repaint so you may not have as much access as I did

Re: WATER PUMP - new - Gates - $6.50 Canadian!
Thanks! I just ordered one from Amazon. It wasn't free shipping with Prime but it was an add-on item.

Re: '86 FWD path to daily driver
The wiper jar is holding with the temp fix. Today was spent mostly putting the front bumper on which was not easy. I had trouble with the rubber gaskets. Once I got the bumper secured and checked the turn signals, left was fine but when I tried the right signal it was clicking double time. This can ...

Re: '86 FWD path to daily driver
Plastic grommets seal the washer pumps into the jar (that holds the washer fluid). Besides needing access to clean out that corner of the engine bay, cleaning out the coolant overflow jar was an unintentional bonus. Real surprise to see the lumps and gunk come out. Very gross. Also discovered that o...

Re: '86 FWD path to daily driver
The interior side panels are/were a cream/tan color in my wagon. They were especially stained and faded around the windows. I used SEM products to repaint: Scuff & Clean, Plastic Prep, Sand Free then Silver ColorCoat. Here is a link to the instructions I've been following http://www.semproducts....

Re: Wanted: washer jar bushings
Yes, I provided the Toyota parts number from the diagram as well as the numbers from the pumps. It was the shipping that was hard to justify and locally, the dealer was passing their shipping on to me (so they upcharged me $10) I have a temporary fix now but I will get the correct part when I tackle...

Re: Wanted: washer jar bushings
I contacted a couple dealer parts dept and they could order an OEM for less than $5 but it has a 2 week wait time and $10 shipping. I'll wait until I have bigger order or add this to my Pick-n-Pull list When researching parts numbers, I came across a Beck/Arnley for $1.50. In the picture, the origin...

Re: Reinstall headlamp: picture request
Mystery solved: on the lower corner of the chrome ring, there is a small tab folded out to catch one end of the spring. On the housing, there are two holes that the spring catches

Re: Reinstall headlamp: picture request
I have an '86 that does not have composite lamps. If you have the same, I'm looking for a shot for where the spring on the outside of the ring attaches. 81121 in the attached diagram

Reinstall headlamp: picture request
I'm having trouble installing and aiming my new headlights. I have an '86 with the all in one large style bulb. I removed everything to clean and repaint but made the mistake of not taking a quick picture for reassembly. I think I have the spring in the wrong spot I'd really appreciate a picture if ...

Re: '86 FWD path to daily driver
Rear bumper before/after. I ended up using SEM flexible bumper paint and primer. Trim around the license plate is on the list to paint

Re: '86 FWD path to daily driver
The cargo area was completely removed this past weekend and scrubbed then scrubbed again. I also found the bolts for the rear passenger window trim. There are two 8mm nuts at the top and one fastener that can be carefully pryed out from the exterior. The nuts are accessible after removing the interi...

Wanted: washer jar bushings
Hi, Both ports on my washer jar leak. The pumps work though so I am looking for just the rubber bushings. Part numbers I believe are both 85330A although they are denoted with a No. 1 and No. 2. I think they are both the same. http://toyotapartscatalog.com/toyota/tercel-al21lg-zwmdck-1-5l-mtm-1982-1...

Vendor for colormatched paint
image.jpg For those of you that have purchased color matched paint, who did you use and are you happy with the accuracy of the color? I've found automotivetouchup.com & paintscratch.com listed here. Automotivetouchup.com has a recommendation from a tercel owner from Arlington - so that's the wa...

Re: '86 FWD path to daily driver
Finally finished painting the bumpers and time to put them back on the car. The rear reinstalled without issue but I knew getting the front back on would require some wiring corrections. Turns out that the PO was having trouble with the right front turn signal and the repair shop was putting in a re...
