Re: Not charging, then overcharging
The battery is fine. I have checked continuity on all the wires from the alternator to the battery and fuse panel. With the car running, the 7.5 amp charging fuse does not have battery voltage to it. On another vehicle I compared it to it does, and only when running. Has anyone traced the wiring fro...

Not charging, then overcharging
I brought home a new to me tercel a few months ago and started working on i t recently. I drove it home with no apparent concerns with the charging system. Light not on. I have moved it a few times. Yesterday, I started it and the light stayed on. I checked the voltage at the battery and it was 11.3...

Re: '85 T4WD "Zombie"
I've seen problems with other vehicles where too much material was taken off a flywheel when it was machined and the clutch not working properly. When asked how much was taken off, this particular machine shop would say 'until it looked good'. I haven't seen this occur with the tercels but maybe it ...

Does anyone know if the clutch pressure plate and disc from a 2WD is interchangeable with a 4WD?

Re: Replacement Key for Pre 2001 Toyotas
I just pulled the door locks out of a car I am parting out. Both tumblers have numbers on them but they do not match. The key worked on both sides and I know they tend to be interchangeable on different cars. Would either number work? Just curious.

Re: Engine Rebuild Crankshaft Questions
Any shop worth their salt would have broken in the engine before delivering it to you. I can't imagine so much debris in a rebuild that would plug oil galleries. Cleanliness is so important. They should have also told you to vary your speed for a certain amount of time (can't remember the specs) and...

Re: Transmission Clicking
The input shaft can be removed without removing the trans. I think there's a write up about it. There are four bolts holding the cover in place. You may have to drop the crossmember to get the bolts to clear the firewall. Then the input shaft can be pulled out and inspected.

Great, thanks for the tip. The paint itself is so pricey, I was wondering how do get around buying everything they recommend. My newest addition to my flock will get this treatment.

Re: 4doorVIPs Tercel SR5 BEAST
What other preparation did you do before applying POR 15. Did you use a specific product or just the simple green? How does it work on areas that aren't rusty?

Thanks Petros. What does a manual trans sell for by itself?
