They are also prone to collecting moisture in the distributor cap after running through water. I usually run a thin bead of silicone grease across the lip of the cap where it meets the distributor when putting it back on.

Re: Situation...steering link ball joint stuck
You can use a puller similar to this to remove it. Measure the width of the joint & buy a puller appropriate to that size. https://www.harborfreight.com/tie-rod-and-pitman-arm-puller-63684.html?cid=paid_google|*PLA+-+All+Products+-+Lower+Sales+Items|New+Products+-+%282%29+Price+%2410-30|63684&am...

I had my first Tercel up to 90 in Montana back in the "Drive at a safe speed" speed limit days. It sure took a while to get there though. This was an 1983 5 speed car.

Re: 1999 4runner
Another good site for Toyota https://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php None of the Toyotas of that era get great gas mileage & are somewhat under powered .
I have a 90 4runner with 390,000 on it & still working fine. Which engine does it have?

Re: Snopocolypse Seattle: 2019
You must be near my elevation or a little higher. We are at 600ft. At the end of my road above us they have 37 inches but are at 1100ft. My locked 4runner with dual transfer cases has been driving right up the hill so far. I also have the tires at 12lb of air pressure which helps a ton.

Re: Front / rear axle diff gaskets
I use the FPIG from Toyota part # FIPG 00295-01281 for this type of thing. Seems to work better than generic silicone sealants.

I believe the salvage price is what you will buy it back for. At least that's the way our 4runner worked when we kept it.

I used to body surf & surf every day for years. Washington water temps are not as pleasant as Hawaii was. I have only gone twice here in the last 20 years. I am just not built to become an ice cube in meh waves. 20 to 30 days a year or so there are some really nice waves. I have to admit to watc...

I have always planned to make it out to that road. Something closer Seattle area would be better for me & I don't have a licensed Tercel right now so I will be driving the 4runner either way

Re: Rear caliper.
If the bleeder screw will actually move you can try cleaning the inside of the bleeder with a bit of welding wire or something similar & then blow it out.
