Re: TOYOTA OE PART NUMBERS - EPC

You can use this site: https://partsouq.com/en/catalog/genuine/locate?c=Toyota Just plug in your VIN, and it narrows down to your vehicle. The diagrams also have the call out numbers selectable, so you can click on the number by the part and it will bring up a box with the part number, availability,...

You should also be able to pick up some wet or dry sandpaper from an auto parts store. We have O’Reilly around here and they will sell it by the sheet. They keep it in back, so you have to tell them what you need (grit and quantity). It saves a lot of hassle if you find someone who doesn’t look like...

Re: New Power Leather Heated Seats, Overhead Console, and Custom Headliner

Funny story about airbags. I work at a dealership and we had a tech doing airbag work on a late model truck. For some reason he had the key in the ignition in the on (battery still connected) position while he was installing the airbag module. Located inside that module is the yaw rate sensor which ...

If all else fails and you do need pistons, you may try out this site: https://partsology.com/amfinder?find=toyota-1985-tercel-1-5l--l4--pistons--pistons-rings-bushings--1061847&sid=ecRKSKTAB0 . I used their pistons for my rebuild and they seem to be doing well so far. Only have the pistons up to...

Re: Hello and I just stripped my carb bolt

So I can't find m8 studs at autozone or oriellys that are 8 on both ends. They also have no way of looking for them without a part number. Don't know what the world is coming to when you can't look up a part by it's specs. I used to work for the O’Reilly just a few miles from the Mothership and I c...

Re: Odd coolant leak

I would have to agree with Petros, myself, as a whole. I could see a potential problem using stop leak in an already abused cooling system without flushing the system first. For instance, if your heater core is restricted the possibility ( unsure of probability, though) is there that the stop leak c...

Re: Brake Lines

If what Petros recommended isn't feasible (ie. you're east of the Rockies/north of Texas), you may be forced to make your own. Unfortunately, finding new pre-bent lines is going to be like finding a unicorn at the end of a rainbow on the 30th of February while it's 95 degrees outside. Since the Terc...

Re: Another radiator fan dilima

it helps a lot to use some sealant around the edge of the thermostat to help hold it into place while you get the nut on it and tighten it down. it is easy for it to shift, and than cause a leak of your costly new coolant if you do not effectively "glue" it into place so it will stay in p...

Ah. I’m not well versed in classic Jags. Thanks for the lesson, though. The small inter-model differences are what I like to learn.

NickC809, I don’t know that I would say it’s too expensive. It may be more the case of a buyer just not frequenting this forum right now. Have ya tried listing it on Craigslist?

Welcome to the forum, Yaut! That’s beautiful country out that way. Took the family to Pilot Knob to go to the Shut Ins, Tom Sauk, Elephant Rocks, Big Spring, and Grand Gulf a couple summers ago. The Current River is an amazing float, too. Byota, I’m not too far from ya. Half way between Springburg a...

Re: Catalytic converter

I just punched mine out with a small sledge and a steel rod. It was messy, but a lot cheaper than a new one. And since I’m not even near the St. Louis metro, I don’t have to worry about passing smog (although, I think our cars are too old for the laws to apply). If you go this route, be sure to get ...

Re: The end of the tunnel is near!!

I know at some time it made it to OK because there was also some old insurance paperwork in the glovebox, and it had a different owner by then. When I picked it up, it was in Republic, West of Springfield a few miles.
