Re: Intermittent Sticking Rear Brakes

Today at the gas station, yes, they just locked up on their own. I did have the parking brake applied while pumping gas. But, this also happens without the brake applied. Reverse doesn't seem any better at freeing things up than going forward.

Intermittent Sticking Rear Brakes

So my new 85 has been having some weird issues with the rear brakes. It has manifested in a number of ways, but in essence my rear brakes are sticking to various degrees for short periods of time. I firs noticed it when the car was hard to take off in first - like the parking brake was stuck on. If ...

Re: Looking for Inclometer in Australia

Thanks Mr B Badger. That sounds Good. Do you think it could be made to fit a 178 x 50 x 181 (WxHxD) millimeters DIN slot? or at least the internals? Doesn't' really matter if the face stands out a little from the dash. Thanks mate! I'll try to remember to pull it out tomorrow when I get home from w...

Re: Looking for Inclometer in Australia

I have one without the mounting bracket and some broken tabs that would work fine for what you are doing. Let me look into shipping options.

Re: "Bullet" ... My Pristine Silver 1985 SR5 T4WD

There is no rubbing for me, even at full lock. Handling is good overall. As far as speedo error, I haven't really checked, but it's not a huge issue for me. I tend to run at about 3000 rpm on the highway, which reads at about 60mph. Figure with a 5% increase in tire size this should be 63mph and I'm...

1983 4WD Tercel Wagon - SR5 - Power Moon Roof - Sacramento, CA

I have way too many cars right now and need to get rid of one of my Tercels. This one isn't perfect, but would make a get driver. Has some rust in the PS front fender and rust bubbling around the windshield, but otherwise super solid and no structural issues. Below is the text from my craigslist ad....

Re: Cheap tercel

I agree with you as far as modern VW's, but I am an aircooled bus guy (79 and earlier). I have a 78 Westfalia camper that i have done a lot of road trips in and export quite a few of them to Europe. Super easy to work on for the most part. Always looking for a good deal.

Re: Fire Extinguisher Install

Good points, which I never really thought about. At least, I didn't think having it there would be any worse than having something on the floor. t never have any passengers though, except for my son who rides in the back. Keeping it in this location it may be best to go with a more secure metal lock...

Fire Extinguisher Install

Coming from the land of old VW's, I am used to always carrying a fire extinguisher within easy reach when I am driving. Plus, after some stories of fires around here I decided to try and find a good place to mount my little auto extinguisher that would be both easily accessible and a clean install. ...
