Yeah, I've seen that forum. A lot of those guys do engine off coasting and accelerate like a snail in mud to acheive it. I would be very happy with 40mpg. Especially since I only have a 10 mile commute.

I used Pilot's replacement housings, that use 9003 bulbs. They're only 30 bucks on amazon. I've been running these for about a year now with no issues. For what its worth, mine did the same thing at cold startup. All cause the choke was set improperly after I rebuilt it. The white smoke was raw fuel being sprayed out the exhaust as a mist. It would burn my eyes and lungs. All I did was adjust the choke and all is well.
