The beauty of coil on plug is that you can cheat and run wasted spark by pairing the trigger wires of 1-4 and 2-3 on your ignition signal from the ecu . This gets you the main benefit of COP without having to have a cam signal, it'll all run off the crank.

I had to fix this on mine recently using flowable silicone. I carefully pried the bottom trim up just enough to fill the gap with goo, that seems to have solved my issue.

On a low strung, low engine like ours there isn't much reason to go synthetic. Synthetic does handle high temperatures better than conventional, but that's really only necessary when towing or other high heat activities.
