Interesting note about the lawn edging: there was a recent post in the Corolla forum of "Toyotanation" that referred to just such an application for that material. The writer mentioned it was originally on a site called "Superhonda", and that it looked pretty good. I went to that...

'82 Tercel on eBay - CA car

It's probably a little irrelevant, as this car is SO clean - but if someone is looking for a 3AC with 55K miles - check it out. It is currently at $1800, though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyota-Corolla-Tercel-1982-Toyota-Corolla-Tercel-LIKE-NEW-NO-RESERVE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6445QQitemZ...

Well - the saga continues ... I checked the vac switches, the VSV, the oxy sensor, temp switch etc. and etc. All checked OK, both electrically and mechanically, as detailed before. When the vac line to "A" was hooked up, the cycling returned, as expected. So I disconnected and plugged the ...

If the retractor-types are unworkable, you might look at '60s Volvos and a few other European cars, My '64 122S had shoulder/lap belts combined, which were advanced for the day, but they were not a retractable type, and were a pain in the neck (figuratively) for drivers of varying sizes who shared t...

Culex - sorry - I just could not resist... :D I won't do it again.
Thanks for the note on the anchor nut. Your logic makes sense. Maybe a non-USA market required the shoulder belts before ours did.
Non-USA owners - any feedback?
Thanks,

Well, I have not made it out yet today as promised - it's raining and no garage and I have turned into a wuss. Anyway, to recap: It cycles when: 1. "A" connected - vac connected 2. "A" disconnected - vac connected It does not cycle when: 1. "A" connected - vac disconnec...

Mine did the reverse - fine when cold, then the RPM cycling from then on. After trying everything in the book and throwing an embarrassing amount of parts at it, I found that by disconnecting the vac line to switch "A" that it stopped the cycling - see my recent posts on this. I had to sit...

I've tried this with the "B" disconnected, as you have recommended before, and that had no effect on the cycling. Both switches "click" when vac is applied with a pump, so mechanically all is OK. Both switches test OK for continuity/no continuity per the FSM. Since "A" ...

Teddy -
I (and all of us) certainly hope that you do not mean tragedies of the personal/physical type. If so, our thoughts are with you and all involved.
Your efforts have certainly been appreciated.

As noted in my message back then, I wrote the Mothership in California when I had no luck going through various dealers in St. Louis. I must apologize for not posting a follow-up. I never received an answer from California. My local Toyota Dealer Parts guy said the best he could think of was to cont...

Kinda like "Bloody" here in the USA is a merely an adjective, or if one watches Masterpiece Theater, a pissed-off Brit. But my impression has been that it is at least a border-line epithet in the UK; what about the Dominions? Tom M. > EDIT - EDIT < WHOOPS - SORRY - I think I should have wr...

In the '86, sold new in Nashville - three prior owners, all in Nashville area: Many pennies, nickels, some silver dimes and quarters - about $7.00. And - a 1901 Morgan silver dollar in worn, but quite legible shape! Have to take it to the coin dealer to recoup some of my "investment"... To...
