Re: Need Help in Austin TX
Uhaul wouldn't even let me look directly at the dollies! I'll have to see if Dad will let me use his Traverse to rent the dolly, then I'll "hypothetically" use the Vibe.

It had red stripes made with vinyl, but they were faded and beat up.

Rocketscience lives up to his name in this thread.
Honestly, if it works, it's not stupid. Heck, this might be the greatest mission that the chair will ever be involved in.

Re: Need Help in Austin TX
I'll see if I can line up any ducks. My vibe's transmission hasn't died yet, if I can get a dolly I'll see what happens when I tow a car nearly the same length with it. It's only 600 lbs over the 1500 lb limit :P I've seen crazier http://i858.photobucket.com/albums/ab144/dgekiere/2003%20rally%20vibe...

Re: Another head gasket replacement...
Unless you ruined your head bolts by majorly overtorquing them, they're fine; don't throw money at them. Get a good straightedge and feeler gauge and check your mating surfaces for flatness. Check both the bottom of the head definitely. Here's a small guide on it: http://www.superstreetonline.com/ho...

Re: Zach's 1985 4WD Tercel Wagon
The FPR seems to be the issue. I hooked the hose straight to the carb and I can now get over 40 mph! Can't wait to drop this pile in for an alignment. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Also, the clutch is chattering a lot. Must fix.

Re: Zach's 1985 4WD Tercel Wagon
After replacing every underhood fuel hose, I have determined that the reason I have 1.5 or fewer PSI is because I have either a failed FPR or the fittings that hook the pressure gauge are leaking too much. Awesome. EDIT: Well, it wasn't a leak. Can't tell if the FPR is the issue, or if it's the fuel...

Re: Transmission won't go in gear
If it was stuck in neutral this usually fixes it.. Pull 17 mm plug on top right of main case. Shove a big screw driver in the hole and push hard. That will move reverse idler gear forward and solve the problem.I do not know why the gear gets out of its place. When handling tranny the shaft that the...

Re: Front struts with spring perch?
The only issue I have run in to with the all-trac struts is I can't get the springs to fit on the Tercel strut spring perches, as the bottom coils are about half an inch too wide in diameter. The FWD shock cartridges are also about 1.5" shorter in the shock rod portion than the original ones, a...

Re: Zach's 1985 4WD Tercel Wagon
Had to drill out the screw that fastens the horn button to the steering wheel. PO stripped it out and overtightened it. My solution: drill off the head and tell Zach I recommend a new steering wheel soonish. I then worked on getting the front wheels closer to where they need to be, then filled the t...
