Re: electric trailer brake voltage?

It depends on how the electric brakes are controlled, how you are measuring the voltage and what type of voltmeter you are using. If the electric brake controller has a rheostat (variable resistor, similar to the one that measures your fuel level in the gas tank) and you are using a good analog volt...

Re: not running 85

Is the motor running but the vehicle just won't move? That could be a broken CV joint, easy repair.

The original Toyota GT is now worth a million bucks, only about 68 with LHD were set to North America.

Re: What's the best " tunable" upgraded cam for a 4ac

I would not install a hotter cam without installing higher compression pistons too. The longer overlap of a hotter cam reduces your actual compression, although a only slightly hotter cam will not have that much affect. When you exceed 290 degrees of duration, compression begins to drop significantl...

Re: My Tercel wont start

You pull the fusible link and nothing will happen, it's like disconnecting the battery.

Re: My Tercel wont start

what would a compression test tell you? if there was no compression because of catastrophic failure, it will not crank normal, most likely making "bad" noises (like "crunch, crunch") or it would be free spinning without compression. even with low or uneven compression it should ...

Re: My Tercel wont start

http://tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5216 If you can take the battery out and get it fully charged up somewhere, do that. Then do a full compression test. If the distributor is installed per the link above, then I would look at the carburetor. Do you smell fuel with the air filter off...

Re: lateral play in trailer bearings

You might check the race height on the bearings on both sides. It is possible that someone got a bearing that had the right inside and outside diameters but not the correct height. You could also check the drums for the same height dimensions and the race depth is correct, that that one outside race...

Re: Stupid woman killed my Tercel!

I hope your daughter had the presence of mind to take some pictures at the accident scene. As for no fault, most lawyers will give you one free session to discuss your case. I strongly suggest that you talk to one of these guys before giving up completely. No fault is not always what people think it...

Re: civic alignment issue

The Civic uses a trailing arm from the front crossmember to the lower control arm. You can use shims in it, but it doesn't have very much range so it can only make a minor correction. I don't remember the camber being adjustable.

Re: civic alignment issue

BTW, the caster on the front is adjustable but not the camber. You can check the camber by parking on level ground and using a carpenters level to check. Check the rear as well as a rear wheel out of camber can cause pulling.

We had a 93 Civic and it did not hold alignment well.

Re: civic alignment issue

It is the camber, not the caster that can cause pull, but on this era Honda, I'd start with the rear alignment first. The rear wheels have to be aligned first. You can do a quick check by following the car and see if it is tracking straight or crabbing (aka dog walking) down the road. That is where ...
