Re: bad bearing noise when moving
... I have found that for some reason the left side front and rear wheel bearings get about 2 times the miles as the right side. No reason for it at all, except perhaps where people use the wheels to tell them where the curb is located, it might put some slight sideways damage on the right wheel be...

Re: Won't Time:Starts cold, runs 45* BTDC, stalls when warm
Hi irowiki, nope, the distributor is installed correct. More I troubleshoot it more I think dlb and Mark are correct: my post title should take out the timing reference and make it about a vac system issue. dlb had great point that shifted my focus: absolutely no point in timing at fast idle becaus...

Re: How long will these CV axles last?
you will have to be the judge. I also drove many miles on bad CV axles that clunk and pull when turning, then again I also drove 0 miles on one that just gave out with no warning (had to put in 4wd and bang and clunk a short distance home). I would say that if you can drive it so it only clunks and ...

Re: 250 mpg vw?
I think Gottolovem means: since a Tesla can do 200 miles / zero gallons, does that mean that the VW does 200 miles electric, and then 50 miles on a gallon of diesel?

Re: Starters
Alright, I'll see if I can find a specific set for the second gen tercels, unless the linked one works? (it says 90 and up) Yes, I have used the above pictured one to rebuild the solenoid on one of my starters. It is a generic kit for Nippondenso solenoids. You will notice that the kit comes with m...
