They probably did under value the car, but I don't have any experience fighting with insurance companies.
Here's a panorama of the passenger's side
The main damage is the rear quarter panel.

1987 4WD auto & 1986 4WD manual on Craigslist near Memphis, TN
Just saw this on Craigslist. Both are pretty clean. $5500 for the 1987 automatic and $4900 for the 1986 manual.

Re: Gambler SR5 - Introduction & mystery part
Just got my settlement today. They valued the car at $2300 and, since the repairs would have been close to $3500, they declared it a total loss. I bought the car back from them for the $225 they would have got at the scrapyard, leaving me with just over $2000. I'll post better pictures once I get it...

Re: Gambler SR5 - Introduction & mystery part
Quick update. After an accident in the school parking lot this week, it looks like the insurance company is going to declare my Tercel a total loss. It's only cosmetic damage, but the body shop wanted $3500 to repair it. Still waiting on valuations, etc., but we'll make sure it doesn't end up in the...

Re: Gambler SR5 - Introduction & mystery part
Haven't posted in a while. Not much update on the Tercel, but I did pick up a new project, a 1992 F150 that's been a veteran of a few Gambler 500 events here in the NW..

Re: Tommy’s Turdcel
What’s it gonna take to fit these? I'm running 185/65R14 which gives me a diameter of 23.5". They fit fine even before I did a lift. Those 165/80R13 have basically the same diameter, 23.4", but are narrower so you won't have to worry much about the tire rubbing inside the wheel ...

Re: Gambler SR5 - Introduction & mystery part
Success!! I finally got it back together. Hit it with a wire brush and then found an old tap that had the same teeth pitch (but obviously not the same diameter) and scratched back and forth until I cleaned up the threads as best I could. From there it was just pressure and elbow grease until I got t...

Re: Gambler SR5 - Introduction & mystery part
Thanks for the suggestion, Petros, I'll give that a shot.
If that doesn't work I'll check some local yards and then PM you ALiveSR5 if I can't find anything.
Will update within a week. Thanks for the support!

Re: Gambler SR5 - Introduction & mystery part
New problem I'd love some advice on. I noticed a knocking sound from one of the front struts. After removal it seems that the nut that keeps the shock cartridge in the housing was off. This part here: https://i.imgur.com/qlfBsDf.png The nut would not go back on and after closer inspection some of th...

Thanks for posting this, Toyotise. It's a good comprehensive list. I've done most of that with similar parts and am glad you've put it all in one spot. I'll be bookmarking this.

1984 4WD SR5 Wagon $500 in Tacoma
Ad is very short on details, probably does not run. Looks like it has the inclinometer.

Only has one photo. If I was closer and had a trailer I'd grab it.

2021 Gambler 500 Trip Report
Not only did my kids decorate my hood, they also came up with this ingenious A/C hack, which turned out to be a good idea since the dates for the 2021 Oregon Gambler 500 overlapped one of the most intense heat waves in the state's history. https://i.imgur.com/yh8JeOL.png I took lots of parts and too...

Re: Gambler SR5 - Introduction & mystery part
The Oregon Gambler 500 starts Friday and I'm off soon. My kids decorated the hood (it's chalk on the chalkboard paint ) and it doesn't look half bad.
Hope to have some good pictures to share after the event.

Re: Gambler SR5 - Introduction & mystery part
They are vinyl. I bought a few 12"x12" samples of Oracal 651 in different colors and cut them by hand. Cost maybe $15 total, but that's because I picked up one of every yellow, orange and red they have so I could play around with color combinations. You can buy samples from most sign shops...
