so grabbing a spider from the easier to access rear diff to hone a new chubby cv axles input spline would not work out.....was just an idle thought.
i got them honed using a diamond bit on a dremel, cut nice and slow.

it is an 87....and an A/T(dunno if the automatic part matters) definitely the end of the production line. balanced gears would make sense. as well as working with the same milling for each then discontinuing the fwd diff housing production... RockAuto doesn't appear to sell rear axles for the tercel...

anyone know if the splines on the spider gears is the same between the front and rear diff?
as in interchangeable....or for spline honing applications

these where brand new cardone's from rockauto.com... the ones for the crv where brand new from O'Reilly's Capture.PNG both sides are missing there inner lock rings too..and road trip for my next gig on thurs starts wed... so they're getting returned...and i will likely be forced to get duralast due ...

after enough banging on things...a chisel wedge was involved even... the control arm separated. removed the axle, and things seemed to be starting to go good...right until i went to install the new axle won't go in...more banging right? maybe it's just a stiff c-ring upon removing it to inspect disc...

i got a side off... the pry bar and smack method.
took a bit though. was nervous about breaking things.
maybe just had to wait out the penetrant
