Re: Intermittent Wipers..
Im interested in adding inter-wipers into my dlx automatic also...i already have a combo switch from a 4runner but its apparently one of the A11 ones that "wont work"...or atleast not easily...i didnt know about that when i bought it.. but i did notice the extra plug & wires that didnt...

Juiceing the Automatic 3A
Im thinking about engine upgrades for my restored Automatic T4 that i have been driving for over a year now... It is my understanding that the automatic trans is more rugged than the 6spd...right? Im thinking about keeping the whole 3A lower end and sticking a 16v head from a 4afe or similar on it.....

Re: VW diesel into T4?
My Diesel T4 project is still slowly progressing, and will never be abandoned...i have been busy with many things lately so it has been dormant for a while, however in the last several months i made much progress. In a nutshell, Im using the 1N-T toyota Turbodiesel ordered from Japan, which is essen...
Re: YUGO!
Yugo is basically all Fiat. its based on the Fiat 128, and the driveline is all fiat. only the body was actually made by Zastava under license, and is only slightly modified from the original 128. Everything appears to be pretty hefty as far as the drive line components...the engine takes 20w50 oil,...
Re: YUGO!
Iv also heard jokes about the "coming soon" wagon version called the WeGo... MPGs are somewhat un impressive...normally about 30, but varies between 25 & 35 with things like city/highway & AC use...i credit it also to not having the alignment just right and the exhaust system being...
Re: YUGO!
Im not sure what CIS is, but mine is EFI...bosch motronic as found in several other cars.. VW etc...the newer, larger 1.3l EFI motor i have is also non-interference, so if the timing belt breaks its no big deal...the 1.1 carbed motor in earlier yugos was of the interference type.

Re: T4 sighting in Back To The Future
Iv thought about making a mock time-machine "module" out of TV tubes, shop-vac, plumbing parts & various other things that would attach to the roof rack... just for the sake of turning heads... No, officer, it doesn't explode & is completely safe...

T4 sighting in Back To The Future
I get remarks about how much my Tercel resembles the Delorian all the time... I just started watching BTTF again this evening as its one of my favorite films, and lowe and behold i believe i see one of our Tercels in the movie...mostly eclipsed but im pretty sure i see the nose poking out from behin...
Re: YUGO!
I started this thread when i first bought the Yugo, about 2 or 3 years ago. I still have it and have enjoyed driving it, people ask about it and talk to me about it all the time in parking lots. I have been maintaining it, no serious running issues since the initial rehab. I successfully added in fa...

Re: Basic mods for daily drivers.
I have a few questions about redoing the exhaust in my 85 automatic that seem pertinent so il ask them here instead of starting a new topic.. 1) The A/C only uses fuel when its on, aside from the slightly increased weight to carry the hardware around...The compressor has a bypass bearing built into ...

Re: Diesel swap and restoration progress
Allright. Today i took both flywheels to the machine shop. I decided that for now, plan A is just going to be to drill new holes in the stock 3A flywheel so that it will mate to the diesel crank...leaving the original 3A holes unfilled & untouched, avoiding the heating/brittleness/welding issues...

Washington State
I have been growing more and more dissatisfied with my life in Pennsylvania as the years grind on...I work at the job i have held since i was 16, wich has turned into a management position, but is still only part time, has no benefits, pays poorly (will be getting a raise up to 10/hr this month), an...

Re: Diesel swap and restoration progress
IM still brainstorming on it. I know it will be less fabrication to do a belt-starter, but possibly more expensive if you factor in batteries and other electronics...so the adapter plate may still be better...il have to take some more fine measurements and look over everything again. After some more...

Re: Diesel swap and restoration progress
Making either factory starter work will require a lot more fabrication than simply adding a pulley and a bracket for a large belt driven motor/alternator. It Would require modifying the bell housing, fabrication of an adapter plate, or both. All that is required to make the diesel bolt to the tercel...

Re: swapping to synthetic gear oil
Undoing all the front end stuff like that and ten putting it back usually means having to get everything re-aligned also...wich iv managed to do somewhat accurately with strings, cinder blocks and a measuring tape...and alot of spare time & patience...but the laser alignment for $60 something at...
