Re: How to remove/secure rear drive shaft for dolly towing?
I am towing one home 250 miles next week. I plan to remove the rear propeller shaft portion of the 2 piece driveline just to be safe & check the fluid in the diff just in case.

85 4wd Wagon
My neighbor has an 85 wagon for sale. 303,000 miles, she says it has a miss & runs rough. Only dent I could see is in the back hatch. Interior looks pretty good, some wear on the drivers seat in the fabric. 6 speed trans, decent tires. Looked like there was an extra carb, oil pan & seat fram...

Re: Crank Seal Oil Leak
Look at the crank seal sealing surface on the crank, if it has a groove where the seal rides on the crank you may have to install a speedi sleeve & matching seal. The sleeve goes on the crank & creates a smooth surface for the seal edge to ride on.

Re: I got another toy
I am considering the Walker Quiet Flow 3 muffler for my 90 4runner. The turbo muffler on it now sounds way too ricey.

Re: Carib Sprinter Japanese Brochure Link
Butterscotch or Root Beer metal flake with the lower black panels would look sweet. I am definitely going to do the bottom panels black when I paint mine minus the black on the rear hatch like the color scheme in the brochure.

83 Project
I have an 83 wagon that is not an SR5 but has most of the SR5 features except the inclinometer. I will need to repair a rear end problem (most likely a bearing), find a section from a parts car to weld into the rear quarter panel on the drivers side. I also realize I will have to pull the rear hatch...

Re: Beware Spectra Premium Radiator CU813
I have found that a light coating of acid based soldering flux on the radiator repair area seems to help get the solder to melt & stick also.

Re: Asking for trouble (crankshaft pulley removal)
I have always used a 1/2" breaker bar against the frame & utilized the starter to crank it loose.

Re: Air ride suspension?
I have a set of the monroe air shocks that I ran for a while. They are a fairly harsh ride when you increase the pressure. I have a set of air bags that fit in the rear coils on my 1990 4runner which is an exact copy of the wagon rear suspension (only larger). Those work very nicely. Wonder if you c...

Re: Odd sized flywheel
that should be the same engine, can you swap the old flywheel? did some swap the imported engine and use the flywheel and clutch that it came with? the 3a flywheels should be easy to find, six bolt at the rear of the crank, I think I would replace the odd older flywheel so you do not have to do thi...

Re: Odd sized flywheel
From Wiki: The 1.5 L 1A was produced between 1978 and 1980.[5] All variants were belt-driven 8-valve counter-flow SOHC engine with a single, twin-barrel downdraft carburetor. Came in tercels and corsa. Changed to 3a in 81 I believe in the tercels The 1au was a Japan only engine, I believe the 1ac wa...
