I stumbled across these looking for small rally tires. Might be a good option for someone looking for bigger AT tires.

Re: 4AGE Rally Tercel
there is a better strut you can use with minimal modification, the corolla GTS (RWD) or the Corolla All-trac front struts are larger diameter, with a similar height and wheel travel, are larger dia (same strut for both cars, they might come in other cars too, but not sure which). you will have to s...

Re: 4AGE Rally Tercel
Polyurethane bushings are all delivered, as well as carrier bearing for drive shaft. So those will go in next. Hopefully even light and stiffer for next racing season. Still need to dry ice the sound deadening out, so i can stitch weld the chassis. Hoping to make a carbon hood this summer. After tha...

Re: 4AGE Rally Tercel
I finished stripping the doors. Removed almost 100lb including the rear glass. So almost 150 if you include the twin wall poly hatch (still need to add a clear piece of lexan to that). I cut more twin wall for the rear windows and I'll use 1/8" lexan for the fronts with slider vents. It looks l...

Re: 4AGE Rally Tercel
that means you beat out a lot of much newer, modified Subarus? all with bigger engines too. Nice going! I bet you had a lot of people scratching their heads at your Tercel4wd! most of the other drivers are likely younger than the Tercel too. what would you compete against if you still had the stock...

Re: 4AGE Rally Tercel
that is just great! nice work. what else is in your class? and what are the rules, allowed mods, etc? what sort of track is it, road coarse or dirt track, or what? Thanks! I'm in 'modified all wheel drive' which allows pretty much anything. The engine swap put me into modified before i did anything...

Re: 4AGE Rally Tercel
facebook/instagram @rtrracingks for footage and updates about our team of old toyotas. The other two guys were racing at the top of there classes as well but made some costly errors on the course which added some penalty time and bumped them down.

Re: 4AGE Rally Tercel
The car did great at the race last weekend and made it back on the trailer safe! I got first in my class and 9th overall amongst 38 drivers. A few subarus and a mini didnt survive the day, but all three of our vintage toyotas on team RTR made it to the end without breaking. The increase in power fro...

Re: 4AGE Rally Tercel
This is how I ended up having to route the exhaust The first pipe had clearance issues with the cv shaft. Should be plenty far from the starter. 20191117_142317.jpg I also built a light weight rear hatch and front bumper from twin wall polycarbonate. A cheap temporary solution. It's pretty tough stu...

Re: 4AGE Rally Tercel
I just got done with 25 miles of break-in driving without any issues. I'm not getting on it much until its broken in, but it pulls hard after 4500! These heat shields work great. The back sides of them were only warm to the touch after the drive. I think the distributer and master cylinder are safe ...

Re: 4AGE Rally Tercel
Looking good, I assume you are going to run w/o a rear bumper? Yea, I'll be running without them. Pulling weight from the easiest places first. The rear doesn't look bad without it, but I need to replace the front bumper with something lighter. As far as weight savings I eventually want to finish r...

Re: 4AGE Rally Tercel
I'm not too worried about rust on the stainless. And the secondary runner is easy and cheap to make so I'll probably rap that too, keeping heat in the pipes for performance of the exhaust system. On another note. Here are some tow hooks I made that go into the bumper mount locations. 20191114_180839...
