Re: New ole number seven, sadly he's getting put down.

Yes David, a good deal indeed! Before even attempting turning it over I stuck a camera down the plug holes and zero corrosion, scoring, perfect crosshatch. Put a shot of fluid film in just to be safe. Rigged up a gas can fuel supply since the tank is gone. Fired up and sounds great! Second lowest mi...

New ole number seven, sadly he's getting put down.

Haven't entered tercel on C-list for a while but just stumbled on a 300$ treasure trove of a parts car just over a state away. So glad everything came together to make it happen. Maybe it was karma since the friend who borrowed me the truck and trailer just had his CRV burn to the ground. After my s...

Re: The Definitive List of Ways to Lift a Tercel 4wd

The cv angles are already pretty sharp with only new coil springs. A truly proper lift would also drop the front control arms with brackets connected together like a strut tower brace. Axles might not clear that area after the drop though.

Re: upper rad hose pipe fitting on head.

Glad it worked out. Filling/building up completely then drill/tap is probably how I would've done it.

Re: Headlight Compatibility

You could perhaps convert it to the '83-'86 north American style sealed headlight; the headlight units are a generic part that's readily available. Maybe the appropriate buckets could be found on eBay or from a forum member? I was thinking the same thing. Add Hella housings plus their high watt bul...

Re: Can My Tercel Pull a Small Scamper?

Have you considered motorcycle size camper trailers? That would be the best size.

Something like this would be cool. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=56XL0TysIn0

Re: Manual Steering?

Not ideal but remove the belt and now it's manual. At some point after I gave away T4 #1, it went the distance like that. Effort wasn't too heavy.

Re: Headlight Relay Harness Upgrade

The wire for the normally closed terminal can be clipped and capped. I use glue lined shrink tube with a tail that can be pinched shut while still hot.

Re: Electric Water Pump Conversion

I'm with Petros on this. Rock simple and it's inherent reliability is a huge part of what appeals to me with these cars. In 25 years of T4'ing I've had only one pump failure. As long as the engine runs, it cools. To me, Kozuto is fixing a problem that doesn't exist. But I can appreciate the ingenuit...

Re: Headlight Relay Harness Upgrade

I would suggest weatherproof automotive relays for under the hood. I use these, the matching relay is shown too.

I also get my wire there, way better than what's found in most stores.

Re: Anybody? Rain leaking in on drivers side

I've encountered this on more than one T4. For me it's always been windshield related, usually rust holes in the window frame. It drips out of the seam between the pillar and upper windshield trim, good for wetting left knees too.. Parking with the front end lower makes it worse with all the roof ru...

https://www.cabelas.ca/product/140862/cabelas-eze-drill Just found this one on Cabela's web site. Any comments? Just realized it's an 8". No experience with that one, or any others for that matter. Couple negative reviews though. Have also heard many complaints about Cabela's in general since ...

That is just too wild, man! Awesome, practical, and fun all at the same time. What an incredibly creative idea and it looks quite cozy, too.
Thanks!

Re: The IceHawk!

Great video Splatterdog. Love your creativity! I would like to get an ice auger that will run on a cordless drill. I have a Dewalt 18v 1/2" drill, nothing fancy but not brushless. I was told you need brushless regardless but would like to know why. I've read about various reasons why but would...
