Re: 1983 Tercel Wagon 4WD SR5 | Overland Build
Resistors defeat the low amp aspect of led's, get an electronic flasher. How is your beam pattern from the Hella's with led? Everything I've heard is that they don't do as well as the full 360 you get from halogen. I put Hella 80/100 watt bulbs(cheap) in mine and am very happy. High beam is like my ...

Wow, big project. Should extend it's life considerably. Make sure to spray something through the rubber plug holes in the subframes, I hosed mine down with Fluid Film.

Re: Autoblog.com Super Rusty T4wd find
Bar ends were good when I put urethane in. Visible frame channel pictured was tested with stabs from a sharp screwdriver and always being lifted on a hoist from that spot. Front control arm areas where I've seen the worst rusting are surprisingly rust free as is the rear lateral arm point. The prima...

Re: Autoblog.com Super Rusty T4wd find
That's some amatuer level rust. Check this out 20191207_165717.jpg Heroic measures were put in place. Yeah, a lot of work but this free parts car has been running great for 10 years or so. I might have to cut this back out at some point and save it for later, it's 304 stainless. 20200102_223248.jpg

Re: Keep "popping" strut mount / strut tops when offroading, need heavy duty strut top recommendation
Considering age and driving style they could be hammered into bits. Very essential part, they are the last line of defense for bottoming. Might not help in your case! Make sure they are good though. New boot/bumper kits are the cheapest part of the strut assy. I would also recommend new strut cartri...

Re: rusty 86 in victoria, bc - $1500
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/288639442339361/ This looks like Scotisha's wagon but it's gotten pretty rusty in the 10 years or so since I last saw it. There is a pic in the ad of a handwritten list of the known issues with it. Crikey, that's pretty rough for $1500... That would be &quo...

Re: Oil Options?
Lots of prior debate on this one. I've been running Redline 75W90NS for a while and have no complaints. If your current oil looks nasty, flushing out with cheap oil first never hurts.

Re: 5 x sr5 alloy wheels in Vancouver - $50
Nah, I only like these wheels on t4's. Even then, I'd probably only use them for winter tires. Cool wheels and a good match for a T4, but like MR2 triangles they suck for winter use. I switched to generic 5 spoke wheels and can now easily poke out the inevitable snowpack I get on a regular basis. T...
Re: new car
Quite the contrast from a T4! Fast wagon's are fun. When the snow get's deep enough a T4 could give that a run for it's money though, looks pretty low. Being a Euro car and a turbo, I would suggest only feeding it the highest quality fluids and never wait for the OLM to run out. Pay close attention ...
