Welcome CD,
While the pic shows vented rotors, they indicate “solid” in the literature. If you want vented rotors, you can step up to the MR2 rotor/caliper swap.

Re: Pulse pump missing? Smog issue
I’m not much help, no smog testing in rural Missouri. You might start a new thread specific to smog testing. I would expect petros and a few others to reply.

Re: Pulse pump missing? Smog issue
dak, You don’t need to mess with the air filter at all for the stock set up. The AS filter just bolts to the fender area and pulls clean air in from there to likely improve the catalytic converter “burn”. Air flow is controlled by the reed valve and I don’t know how much this may help you on smog. C...

Hey Nordical,
I picked up an 87’-88’ grill not long ago. I’ll share pics tomorrow.

It should be right under the “section” name in red. Go to the General “tab” and look under “General”.

Re: Which mechanical fuel pump
JJ, I’m not an authority, but to my knowledge, in North America, all Tercels got the 1.5L 3A engine from the factory. The 1.6L was sold in other cars here in NA, but not the Tercel. I have a junkyard 4A from an 85’ Chevrolet Nova in my Tercel. The engine blocks are identical, but the pans, brackets,...

Toyotise,
Is this a Slingblade (movie) reference?
Sounds like you have the “right” idea. Mmm hmm. Goptta post us some videos of cruising up those forested interstate hills holding 65mph. Mmm hmm. 20 Valve!

Nordical,
Slowly but surely,
I’m working out a final few kinks and will be ready to daily it. I was pleased to find the heater working ok after cleaning up the HVAC fan.

rocksy,
Did you have the distributor out at some point? What you describe sounds like a timing issue. It’s quite easy to be off by a tooth when stabbing the distributor.

smellis,
So sorry for you, that really stinks. I hit a deer doing 70 and had similar damage, but less. Fortunately, I have a parts car and got it back together. Good luck. There are still a few around, you might have to find another one.

HG, Salvage yards would be your best bet. If you visit the unrelated FB page, Luke Anthony and Timothy Thomas are the goto guys. If you’re not on FB let me know and I can reach out to them for you. It seems these bars may be “spring” steel, so getting one made would likely be cost prohibitive. Chris
