Re: Cv axles question

I've been wondering the same thing since mine still seem to be leaking.

I think I posted a thread a while ago about all the transmission seals and the part number for them, so if you need to replace the seals while you're at it then it's around here somewhere

Re: Distributor vacuum lines

Okay so far I found 2 vacuum leaks when going over the lines again. New problem: the vacuum line going to the AAP is collapsed and sealed, I pulled the line off and it's full of fuel. When hooking up vacuum to the AAP the line pulls fuel. I'm assuming it shouldn't be doing that For reference - this ...

Re: Distributor vacuum lines

some models did not have the HAC system, and the vac lines were capped off. my '84 does not, but my '86 had one. Might be state spacific if you go one or not. It will run fine without it, just make sure the vac lines are routed properly for the Non-HAC system. Well it has a screw plugged in it so I...

Re: 4AGE Head swap - making the impossible into the possible

there is an ancient thread about someone that adopted a throttle body injection system off a Suzuki (if I recall correctly) to the Tercel. the throttle body assembly has all of the sensors built into it, and you just have to make an adapter for the carb/intake manifold. Looked like a good way to go...

Distributor vacuum lines

Okay so I went through the vacuum diagrams in the repair manual and the only thing I have an issue with currently is the high altitude compensation system. I can't seem to find the HAC valve on my engine. After tracing the vacuum lines, there are two that go behind the engine to the distributor. How...

Re: Timing

Just finished putting my car back together with all the new parts. New pulley fits perfectly and there's no wobble in it at all! Thanks again Bailey! It turns out my crank pulley was missing the belt guide also so thanks for giving me that one also. No wonder this pulley wouldn't screw down, it had ...

Re: 4AGE Head swap - making the impossible into the possible

Yeah that’s the info I was looking for. The head swap would be more ideal for those who can’t / don’t want to move an entire engine, or those that paid for a rebuild and have low miles on their 3AC Another idea I was thinking of would be some type of fuel injection adaption to our current engines, i...

4AGE Head swap - making the impossible into the possible

I am currently gathering information to see how possible this would be. Since the 3A and 4A have the same head design, and head bolt pattern (as far as I can tell) this should follow the same process as the Jeep 4.0 MPI swap which I have successfully completed. Online sources say the 4A and 4AGE wil...

Re: 4AGE swap into 85 4WD

Question

Does anyone have both the 4AGE crank timing gear and the 3AC timing gear to compare? Are they the same teeth # and shaft diameter?

Tom

See this would have been good to know before I sold the other car! It had both the splash guard AND the luggage cover

radiator splash shield

I think I found the part number for it, 51441-16021

at least that's as far as I can get, the description said "2wd" but it also shows it's for the SR5 model

splash shield, splash guard, splash deflector, radiator cowling, crossmember cover, whatever they call it

Rear axle gears

Still looking for the 3.83 gears for the rear so I can match them up. I have the 4.10 gears (and the entire front hub assembly) that I can trade. I’d rather just swap the rear gears because the rear input seal is leaking so it will need to be pulled apart anyway and there’s no need to put twice the ...

Crank Keyway

So after some digging I pulled off my beat up woodruff key and measured the dimensions as best as I could, and then went on the O'Reilly website and matched it up to Dorman part number 595-061 My dimensions (rounding as best as I could): 5mm thickness, 8mm height, 18mm length I just tapped the Dorma...

Okay so those are just valve cover grommets? I thought they looked similar but I wasn't sure why there are so many of them in a package

Re: Timing

Alright just got the pulley off, thanks to BaileySims for getting me those parts It looks like something funky happened to my pulley and they had a shop machine off the keyway slot, my key was loose and I just pulled it out to find out it’s damaged so I’m looking for a new one What is the part numbe...
