Re: big blue geting beautified

are these the honeycombs? and is your ride lifted at all? i can see the front is jacked up in the photos but the back end is definitely sitting higher than stock too. i say clean off the rest of the trim glue and flat black the whole damn thing to match the rear corner!

Re: studs

what's the proper technique for installing studs? i had to put one on the wife's truck long ago and i had no difficulty tapping the old one out and then pulling the new one through. i put the rim on and just tightened all the nuts down and that seemed to snug the new stud up pretty well but i still ...

Re: New dude here, my 2 wagons

fsm is the factory service manual. you'll find the link for it at the top of each forum page. it's a bitch to navigate but pretty useful, obv. i love the flat black! i'm a fiend for the stuff myself. the rims are gloss though, am i right? i also like the white walls. ps, were in alberta are you? i h...

Re: My new to me 87 sr5

i know, i felt like a d*ck posting pics on someone elses thread but they seemed legitimately applicable so i went for it. not surprisingly, it's all the drifters who give my car some good looks. i think they just get psyched about flashy looking japanese cars. no challenges yet though! wimps.

Re: Stereo Upgrade

warbstd, i'm in canada but i'm sure the same decks are available everywhere. i bought the cheapest deck i found at wal-mart (i'm ashamed of myself for shopping there but i admit it). it's a "dual" brand, is a cd player and has 1/8" and USB inputs on the face so you can easily plug in ...

Re: Better value for price: '86 DLX or '83 SR5 ?

if you're in california i would just keep my eyes peeled on the craigslist in oregon. there seem to be quite a few 4WD tercs in that neck of the woods and it's not really that far from you. don't know about transfering vehicles from state to state down there, though.

weber electric choke tuning

do any of you fellow weber users have any tips on setting the electric choke the 32/36 DGEV? on my 3A, i had problems with the car bucking when it was warm and had the exact same thing when i first put the 4A in. loosened off the plastic choke dial and turned it clockwise: the electrical contact ton...

Re: Rebirth after 300K

possibly could be a canada/us thing, i'm not sure. i think the new-ish, no sag springs would have something to do with it. did you happen to notice if your donor car was a 6-cylinder? that's what i'm leaning towards, as the bigger engine would likely require heavier springs.

Re: Better value for price: '86 DLX or '83 SR5 ?

splatter you're right, the '83 probably would have a clinometer! tempting, but honestly i would pass on both of those. wayyyyy overpriced. they're fairly low miles but not THAT low. if i saw a totally mint terc i would drop probably $1200 max. as it is, mine was in very good condition and i got it f...

Re: Rebirth after 300K

hmmmmm. i wonder why bart has never had any problems with his camry springs. synth, do you know if your springs came from a 4- or 6-cylinder camry? i remember bart mentioning that the 6-cylinder might have heavier springs and that he couldn't say if they would work or not. if the springs that synth ...
