Re: Fuel Tank Baffles

Heres a $300 metro https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/ ... 77293.html

Oh, just noticed its an auto. The ecu is almost the same but you'd have to make a couple wiring changes.

Another one :) https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/ ... 63067.html

Re: Fuel Tank Baffles

teranfirbt, thanks for the info, the surge tank in the engine bay would have to be the fastest way to do it but I'm still tempted to run the pump in the back just to minimize the amount of stuff in the engine bay and make it less dangerous if I run into a deer or something. I was just looking at you...

Re: Fuel Tank Baffles

Eh, I'm just going to put the inline pump at the back with a big spin on filter up front where the stock one is, that should act as some kind of buffer. If the tank isn't baffled it shouldn't make much difference whether the pump is in there or not, it could suck air just as easily, and it will be a...

Re: Photobucket fix

I was just thinking that it might be a good idea to save some of the repair guides or more extensive posts with images as pdf's (simply print it as a pdf) so if it happens again they would be easy to reproduce. Looks like they all have a little paper clip by the title. There are a lot of non-photo b...

Re: Fuel Tank Baffles

our Tecel tanks do not have baffles, neither do the EFI corolla tanks as I recall. if you can get a corolla fuel pump assembly, I am pretty sure it will mount in the Tercel fuel tank, the flange is the same. You would need both new supply (high pressure) and return lines. I think most people who sw...

Re: Fuel Tank Baffles

The only other downside to that setup is that I think you'd still need a larger return line to the main tank which reduces its simplicity. Maybe you could use the vapor line?

Re: Fuel Tank Baffles

The bad news is that there are no baffles, at least not in my 83. Good news is that the tank looks fabulous inside, very clean. I've looked into a few different options: 1. just running it with an inline and nothing else 2. add a low pressure external lift pump in front of the high pressure with a b...

Fuel Tank Baffles

Can anyone confirm that our tanks have baffling in place? I read a post from Synthdesign's 4age swap were he mentioned it but my car is an 83 so I'm wondering if it might be different. I'm about to try the Denso Tbi swap and was planning on using an inline pump. I am wondering how much I'd need to h...

Re: Suzuki TBI

Well i took all the measurements and spent way too much time trying to get this free linux cad program to work for me but I have a template put together that should work. I'm hoping I can print it to scale and once I figure that out tomorow I'll upload it so anybody else on here that's interested co...

Suzuki TBI

I've nearly gathered all the parts I'll need to try doing the Hornbeam TBI conversion but need to make an adapter plate. I read on here that Gasoline Fumes posted a drawing of his at some point but was unable to find it. I'm sure I can make one up pretty easily but thought I'd ask if anybody remembe...

Re: Gas In Oil

Finally got it running better! After going through and testing and fixing everything I thought might be contributing to it running like crap, I changed the oil, put in new plugs and a used jyard distributor. It idled okay, no smoke and much smoother than it has since I've owned it but was cycling so...

Re: Gas In Oil

I cleaned up my o2 sensor and tested it, I cleared off most of the soot and then blew/dug it out of the holes with a seal pick. Then I stuck the positive lead of my multimeter into the connector wedged against the blade and held the sensor body with channel locks with the negative lead wedged betwee...

Re: Gas In Oil

Aw crap, something I totally forgot about: a couple weeks ago I started the car in the morning and noticed a gas smell and some smoke under the hood, popped it and found a leak from the hose at the carb with gas running out, it was scary! I killed it, tightened the hose clamp down hard with a socket...

Re: Gas In Oil

Going back to my original question about gas in the oil, I took off my fuel pump last night and I couldn't find any evidence of it leaking. I smelled inside it and it smelled more like straight oil than the oil in the crankcase did. I pumped it by hand and no gas leaked from where it connects to the...
