I still haven't figured out how to remove that control panel. ......saw that it wouldn't be easy...didn't get the one from the parts car because I couldn't figure out how. Probably have to disconnect the cables at the doors and pull them thru the opening? the heater control panel is a bitch to remo...

Re: Looking for a tercel in WA
[quote="thess"]Or at least on the western side of WA. Anything that runs, doesn't have significant body damage and is cheap enough for me to justify fixing it up :) try placing a Wanted ad in the paper has worked for me several times plus you usually will not have to compete with any one e...

Could you please tell me what it is? just going on memory here on a hot engine i believe its .008 inch for intake valves and .011 inch for exhaust i think its listed in the maintence sectio...

Re: Valve Adjustment
Read Takza's writeup. I have one questoin; what is the advantage of adjusting the valves when they are hot vs when they are cold? The clearance specs in the manual are for cold readings. All i can do is relate my experiences. Whenever i have adjusted valves on a cold engine the valves became noisy ...

Re: CV Halfshaft Replacement Question
[quote="coltarms"]I just got BOTH reman cv shafts in from Napa. Before I tear into this job, I'd love to get a quick rundown of how to go about i used to do this job the hard way then i found out you do not want to remove the two bolts at the lower end of the struts. not removing them mean...

All you can do is try...not sure there is enough play lengthwise. I think if you remove the 2 bolts on the hub...you can just swing the outside end out to pull the diff end? You'd have to wire the axles up and replace the bolts to move it. dissconnect the tie rod and lower ball joint you should be ...

Re: Higher the Octane the Better?
[quote="JOE"]Not to familiar with Octane ratings in the states, but in Canada, regular is 87, mid-grade is 89, premium is 91, and supreme is here is something to consider. between the tercels and my full size ford truck i have found that i get 2-3 mpg more from 89 octane (plus) vs 87 octan...

Re: Carb Rebuild Parts
So there I was minding my own business rebuilding my carb in my garage.....a thermos of hot coffee beside me and Bruce Springsteen on the Radio, when all of a sudden I broke off the 2 bolts that hold the bufferfly valves on the shaft on the carb base. Anyone know where to find replacements? I'm hea...
