Re: Turbo 4age tercel

Nice work Keegan, What purpose is the stock radiator going to serve? I see you’re working around it, but understand the large AL radiator will cool the engine? Piping/hoses will be interesting. Do you expect this set up to have some of the same “heat” challenges (exhaust heat melting wires, etc.) a...

Re: Turbo 4age tercel

Few more pics. Got the intercooler and radiator mounted. The pics don't show it well, but it's going to be a huge pain to make the piping and upper radiator line. I still need to figure out where to put the blow off valve as well. The fan is a cheapo one my roommate had laying around. I'll probably ...

Re: Turbo 4age tercel

Very interesting project. It will be very quick since that chassis does not weigh much. I see also that you have manufactured exhaust manifold for that. Do you need to modify fuel tank and lines for that modification? I have understood that 4AGE has fuel pump inside tank normally. The exhaust is a ...

Turbo 4age tercel

I'm just posting this for now as a teaser. Still have a lot of work to do, and I'm not great at documenting my work. I've had a few people inquire about it so here are a few pictures.

Re: Amazing 1984 Tercel Rally Build by Verve Racing

That sounds promising NWMO, it will be interesting to hear what kind of engine it will be in 1st. gen Tercel. And he is also knowing what he is doing since that Tercel was so quick. Hi, im the one who messes around with these engines and what to find their limits. I boosted a 3a safely to 8psi, bum...

NWMO wrote: Mon Aug 08, 2022 7:56 am I wouldn’t mess with the third member, just find a 3.73:1 rearend (in decent? shape) and swap the whole thing in. AFAIK, axles swap between all years, I have pulled 84’ axles and used in my 85’ rear.
its way easier and cheaper to ship a pumpkin / third member than it is to ship a whole axle.

Pretty clean! The first gens suffer from severe rot in the rear quarters and control arms...this one, while not spotless, is prolly one of the cleanest first gens ive had!

Went and looked at this "minty" sr5 hatch. Always wanted one, and I think it'll go well with the turbo 4age hatch im putting together! It doesnt have all the sr5 features I'd like (alloys, chrome package, sun roof) but this will prolly be the last clean one in the area that I can get my ha...

Re: New to me Tercel rundown

Hey Murph, Welcome to the board! Being an 87’, having the clutch in should be required, to start the car. The “kill” switch is something I’m not familiar with (and likely isn’t stock). It sounds like somebody’s answer to avoid starting the car in gear, but being an 87’, I think it should have had “...

3ac yes if its from a later 3a, 4age no. 4age has a bigger floating small end bearing whereas the 3ac/4ac is a press fit
