Re: Oh Boy! What a deal!
I wonder what special bits the JDM versions got that we didn't. Anything I should be scouring eBay for? Some versions had variable suspension height systems. (similar to my Celsior) they definitely had fancier interiors. I don't know all of the various editions Japan got over ours, other than findi...

Re: Oh Boy! What a deal!
Would be kind of cool, but not for that price. I do hope to one day pick up a RHD Tercel with a 5spd! There's a company near me that said they would help me source one. I also may sign up and pay the hefty price and be able to bid on them online. There was one that sold late August/early September o...

Re: Isolate front brakes?
You could always get a brake line fitting and bring it to the hardware store and find a pipe plug that's the same thread and do that for the time being. Obviously that'll depend on the thoroughness of the inspection. (I have never experienced them so sorry if that's a stupid solution) That being sai...

I'll definitely update this thread when the trip happens with a few pictures!
That's definitely a lot of daily driving though! How many miles does your Tercel have?
I have heard about a member having one with over 600,000 miles?

Re: What have you done to your wagon lately?
Rebalances driveshaft! The old driveshaft was pretty banged up. The joints made a ton of noise and we definitely in need of being replaced. As the car is my primary driver, I only had one option to remove it at my work. Thankfully the bosses were gone for the week 🤠 The rear portion of the driveshaf...

Spud is going on another adventure!
For those of you who are unaware. I took my Tercel4wd on a long road trip with an organization called Lemons Rally. "Spud" (as the previous owners named it) went on a 3,000+ mile road trip from Bangor Michigan to Bangor Maine and back over the course of 6 days. It was a long and brutal tri...

Re: Leaky front end
If anyone is interested in making a batch of seal driving tools, I'd be willing to purchase one. I repalced my seal twice and have had continual leaks. I feel like I am definitely driving it in deeper than .3 inches.

Re: Squealing belt info.
Thank you Mark! I recently replaced my alternator with a cheap eBay 60 amp alternator and my belt has recently started squeaking. When I was changing the oil, I noticed both belts were pretty tight. I think I will drive my wagon to work tomorrow and check the battery voltage after work. Thanks again...

Re: Some parts for sale.
We had a pretty bad storm yesterday and both post offices within 10 miles each way from me is without power. I will not be able to get you a shipping quote today. I apologise. I will get one for you ASAP.
Thank you for understanding.

Re: Coolant leak?
Could always wait until it cools down and use a rental pressure tester from the parts store. I could smell coolant after my engine rebuild a few weeks ago. I was a little nervous because I couldn't find anything and it was not dropping very quickly from the overflow tank. The one I rented from AutoZ...

I have been using the CARDONE 31741 on my Tercel for about 4 months with no issues.
Picked it up from Rockauto for $150ish.

Need advice on whether or not to replace carrier bearing before trip - with a video
Hey everyone, I did a little bit of digging through this website on carrier bearing replacement, unfortunately most of the links are down since the server move. My car is set to take me on a road trip approximately 3,000 miles, but very possibly more, on Monday morning. Now that my exhaust is finall...

Have you called your Toyota dealership? I have everything but the boot on order though my local dealership because it's NLA.
