Re: Fuel Solenoids

Re: NEED Advice

along with. He said something about having to double clutch it because of the different years for engine and transmission. There is a new clutch. One of the guys is a mechanic, he's the one who did the rebuild. I am wondering about the double clutch remark "because of the different years for en...

i replaced the manifold gasket and intake manifold. the air leak is gone but the engine still will not idle. i have tried several carb's that work in other cars and they all seem to be dumping a lot of gas when i look down the throat. all of the carbs idle down to a medium high idle but backing the ...

What are some of the issuses that you have found with non-Toyota spark plugs? Doesn't Toyota use Nippondenso &/or NGK from the factory? i do not know for sure but i think someone did not catch the fact that DuPont makes dynamite spark plugs. i have used mostly NGK's for the last 18 years on the...

Re: Our Tercel stories

I would like to read some stories about your cars...[/quote] I noticed the Tercel Wagons back in the early 80’s and thought they were neet cars. I thought the shape was odd but liked the 4wd small wagon idea. In 1985 a musician friend returned from a gig in Canada driving one. I wanted one. I...

Re: Fuel Solenoids

at this point i'm assuming i have two messed up carbs so i am taking them apart and cleaning them. instead of doing the above i took the carb out of the good running car and put it in the bad and it still would not idle. so i put the other carb in the good car and it idled just fine. so i guess it i...

Re: Fuel Solenoids

I changed my carb on the weekend and I had to change the wiring harness that goes with it as well, and I think I may have spliced the two black wires back to front from their original spot. What would happen driveability wise if I did that? Would that make my idle cycle up and down, and hesitate? w...
