Re: new to forum! 1985 4wd sr5

The Gas Filter he's referring to is probably the one on the intake manifold that has vacuum ports.

Re: Radio question

My Regal keeps the cigarette lighter powered all the time, and I wish it didn't!

On mine it was funked up.

Black/White = negative
Blue/yellow = positive
Black = speaker left
black = speaker right
red/green spliced together = speaker negative

Re: Radio question

In my 1st gen the cigarette lighter and the radio are controlled by the accessory circuit (the only things on there actually), so only work when the key is at ACC or ON.

I ended up jumping the constant power to the Dome Light fuse for now, since it doesn't draw much.

Re: Radio question

A little update, finally got the radio in with help from a $10 generic import dash kit. It's not really attached as much as wedged in there. Sounds good considering the speakers are of questionable quality! https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/970679_424855347634349_1974665921_n.jp...

Size of vacuum hoses?

Looking to buy new vacuum hoses online, and can't figure out the size needed. I don't have a caliper to measure, and I've done some serious searching here and on google, so I'll just ask, what size are the vacuum hoses for the emissions stuff? I see options for 8mm and 10mm online. Thanks!

Re: Vacuum advance and ignition questions

It's hard, because with the hose disconnected and plugged, the car runs like crap and normally stalls!

Re: Vacuum advance and ignition questions

Alright, now that I have a working advance, I'm about to hook it back up, but for now it'll only be the upper port (and capping the HAC port). I do not yet have a fixed carb for ported vacuum for the lower port. Could I get a quick summary of what the upper and lower ports do? The upper port, connec...
