Re: Lifted 1986 Toyota Tercel 4wd - $3000 (Boulder)
DLB- no major reason, after 3 tercels I'm just looking to start a different project. I'm probably going to get a Toyota truck or maybe a 4runner- something I can take off road without causing frame damage like with my old red car. This silver car is just in too good of shape to put through that kind...

Hey that's mine! I know my price is a bit high, but it's way less than what I have into it and it's not the end of the world if I don't sell it.

Nice! I'm also curious about the ride. Throw some bigger tires and you'll be set!

Various T4wd Parts
It's time to thin out my parts collection- still have lots left from parting out my old car. Let me know what you need, and I'll see if I still have it. Some of the bigger parts still left: 3ascv head, valve cover and manifolds- Only came on JDM motors, vac diaphragm works great. Whole thing could u...

Re: Manual vs Automatic
Seems that around here (mountains) the manual trans cars will sell a lot faster, even if theres an auto car that's a better deal. The automatic is really slow if you're driving anywhere but on flat roads. As far as selling the transmission itself, manuals in good shape will go really fast. I've been...

Re: flared and widened front/ trophy truck style
I've thought about doing something similar, I've got the same problem with the wheel hitting the frame. Not sure I'd trust a spacer more than an inch out, puts a lot of stress on the steering knuckle and bearing. As far as longer travel- synthdesign figured something out with an mr2 insert, but I ha...

Re: path finder/ cherokee springs?
I made the spacers myself, Barto style using poly cutting board sheets. I've got a template I could scan if you want

Re: path finder/ cherokee springs?
I've got the pathfinder springs in rear and spacers in front. Tires are 205/75/14. Adjustable kit seems like a great way to go, the front of the rear wheel wells got pretty chewed up on that car while four wheeling. I'm working on designing a long arm kit which would lengthen pretty much everything....

Re: utv wheels or beadlocks on tercel??
I was meaning with a little lift. I run 195/70/14's in the winter and they worked without a lift but would bottom out too easy IMO. The BFG all terrain would be 5% bigger so it's probably a good idea to lift the car at least an inch or two

Re: utv wheels or beadlocks on tercel??
That'd be pretty sweet! The only all terrain tire that fits a semi stock tercel are the 195/75/14 BFG KO's. That's what I'll be using pretty soon. Would be sweet to get UTV mud tires in there.

Re: path finder/ cherokee springs?
I assume you got the front cherokee springs? The xj's had leafs in the rear. One guy on here used those springs on the front and the rear of his T4- cutting is required since the spring tapers in at the top. The taper does make it possible to use in the front strut, though. The pathfinder springs go...

Re: Location of filler holes for manual tranny?
The rear plug is a 19mm I believe. I like to jack up the whole front of the car and fill it from the front(What FSM recommends), you could do just one side if you've only got one jack stand. Be sure to back the rear drain plug out about 8 turns while filling.

Yep, new axles are going in as well. The angles were fine with my old car, though with this one I have some spacers for the x-member to keep things all good.
