Tercel Needed (the end of my 86DLX)
My car was rear ended, while sitting in traffic, by a girl who was too busy texting to pay attention to the road (she didn't even touch the brakes, no skid, no nothing). She was traveling at aproximately 35mph. The back end smashed sent me headlong into the Honda Element in front of me, front end sm...

Front Suspension Rebuild, Part #'s Etc.
I've searched the forum and didn't see anything that specifically addressed a front suspension rebuild with Tweaks, Tips, Upgrades, Tricks, or things to watch out for. My Terc4wd is starting to show it's age and I'm interested in upgrades if possible. I've already swapped out the front struts and ou...

Re: Tercel Bucks and Dies under load
Brand new fuel Filter, full tank of gas (91 Octane) Did the tune up After it started having problems with no change in performance after the tune up. I had the parts before the problem started, so since the car was just sitting in the driveway I figured it couldn't hurt. The OLD plugs, wires, cap, a...

Tercel Bucks and Dies under load
After recently replacing my Toyota Carb with a Weber, I also ended up replacing the intake/exhaust manifold gasket, while I was at it I removed the EGR and plugged the hole in the exhaust and intake, and verified PCV venting and function (the pcv valve is relatively new, less than 10,000 miles on it...

Re: Weber OUT / Toyota IN
I seem to have the Intake leak resolved, Had some damaged threads on the bolt hole for the intake (2nd from the front of the head on the bottom row) So had to drill out, tap, and helicoil to get good threads that would hold torque. After re-assembly and testing (with a can of carb cleaner around eve...

Re: Weber OUT / Toyota IN
Intake leak confirmed, can't see it, but the rpm change when carb cleaner is sprayed on the intake manifold tells me I've got a leak, so I'm off to the pick a part to find a good intake before I tear into it.

Weber OUT / Toyota IN
My 86 DLX has about 120,000 miles on it, the original Toyota carb was replaced with a rebuilt about 25,000 miles ago. The rebuilt started leaking so I replaced it with a new Weber DGEV. I've had problems getting the webber to idle below 1,100 rpm No matter how much I mess with it. Also can't seem to...
