Re: Souping up a 3A Engine
Hi Chris, Sadly there is no easy way to gain more power easily with these engines. They are just slow cars sadly. I have run both weber and a reconditioned Stock carb and the stock carb is more drivable and doesn't bog down and have flat spots like the weber and also there was very little difference...

Re: INstalling A/C on 1984 Tercel
Hi Christopher. I believe that a 1988 Tercel is FWD so probably would not be similar. Best if you could find a Tercel hatch, 2wd Wagon or 4wd wagon of the same 2nd generation as our cars (FWD came out between 83-86 - 4wd wagon continued until 1988) A similar rwd Toyota like a Corolla of the same yea...

Here is a Tercel I photographed in Stockholm about 15 years ago. Not a lot left of it but I do love the front bumper overrider!

Great work. Did you need the sticker for the rear hatch that says Toyota? I made an illustrator file that you could take to a signwriter to print. its on here somewhere.

blacked out window frames. perhaps a few more options available. other countries apart from North America carried the inclometer all the way through the model years.

Re: 6th Generation Corollas
Hi mine gets about 8litres per 100kms (UN mandtated measuring units :) ) with standard width tyres and thats doing 3,100rpm at 60mph (100kmh). That would change with the wide tyres and driving style quite a lot. The roof rails look like they;ve been added on as well. Is the owner on the facebook gro...

Re: 6th Generation Corollas
Hi Mogordo! I imagine in NM the tint would be handy (should have AC as well) Sounds like they have replaced the 4afe with a 7afe which is common mod (early ones have a notch for the diff lock) I would check that the diff lock works to give you true 50/50 4wd front / rear.. Both great engines tuned f...

Re: My sr5 tercel build
Nice score. Have you changed the transmission and rear diff fluid yet? always the first thing to do. Looks pretty clean! lightly sand the black window trim and gutter, mask and hit it with some satin finish black rattle can to make it really pop!

I'm not sure exactly what month the diff ratios change in 1985. Worth doing some research on here.

I'm Australian so excuse me if I got it al wrong. could you go through Colorado? they have an endless supply of wrecking yards there. If you follow Murilee Martin on TTAC and Autoblog he finds a lot of Tercels there... Just looked on google maps and its a bit out the way. Try the Facebook group as w...

Hi Lawrence, if there is leaking its usually where the drainage tubes go down the A and D pillars of the car. they get blocked by leave and debris that collects in the gutter that goes around the inside of the sunroof and drains into the tubes. If the motor isn't working you can carefully prize the ...
