Re: New owner of an 86 SR5 4X4 Wagon

it's interesting because i've only seen that colour on the '87 or '88s but those headlights are from the older models. curious.

looks great though, and definitely a good price!

Re: weber electric choke tuning

sorry, i had it backward. so what i mean is when i manually close the choke it should make the mixture richer and thus keep the idle up so the engine doesn't stall. but no matter where i set the choke, after the fast idle disengages the engine idles low (400-500 rpm) until it warms up and idles norm...

Re: weber electric choke tuning

hmmm. i don't know then because i manually held the choke open and opened the throttle for a second to see where the idle would settle at afterwards, but the revs never changed. even if the coil is delaminated, as long as the choke is open the revs should pick up a bit, right?

my grindcore band

this is as off-topic as it gets and i'm almost embarassed at the idea that this is some kind of self promotion but this is actually the furthest thing from it. this is just a fun noisy band i'm in with a few of my best pals. we played a show last week that was pretty fun and my lady recorded a lot o...

why is that? i just put snow tires on a few weeks ago and noticed that right around the same time my km/L went to sh*t so the two are likely related.

Re: weber electric choke tuning

i've messed around with the choke a bit and still no action yet. i've tested the lead going to the choke and it has current so i don't think the problem is there. today i loosened off and rotated the choke adjustment wheel, opened the throttle for a second, and then checked the idle speed, but the e...

Re: big blue geting beautified

are these the honeycombs? and is your ride lifted at all? i can see the front is jacked up in the photos but the back end is definitely sitting higher than stock too. i say clean off the rest of the trim glue and flat black the whole damn thing to match the rear corner!

Re: studs

what's the proper technique for installing studs? i had to put one on the wife's truck long ago and i had no difficulty tapping the old one out and then pulling the new one through. i put the rim on and just tightened all the nuts down and that seemed to snug the new stud up pretty well but i still ...

Re: New dude here, my 2 wagons

fsm is the factory service manual. you'll find the link for it at the top of each forum page. it's a bitch to navigate but pretty useful, obv. i love the flat black! i'm a fiend for the stuff myself. the rims are gloss though, am i right? i also like the white walls. ps, were in alberta are you? i h...
