Re: considering parting out 85 4wd wagon

I'd be interested in the battery bracket if it's not too rough as well as adjustable intermittant wipers and cruise control.

Any European members out there?

I'm hoping to source some LHD E-Code headlamps and was hoping we had a German/French/EU members on the board.

If you can point me toward someone, that would be great!

Re: Removing the brake bias control module for 50/50 braking

I thought tercels had 60/40? Show me documentation (FSM, owner's manual), otherwise... Think about how much a car weighs and the forces involved when you slam on your brakes in an emergency. There is a ton of weight transfer, hundreds of pounds shift from the rear of the car to the front. Honestly,...

Re: Removing the brake bias control module for 50/50 braking

I'll say this, you don't want the rear wheels to lock up first unless you know that you can control the car in an split second situation. Having the rears lock up first is an invitation to spin the car. Most cars have an 80/20 split between the front and rear brakes. 70/30 is probably ideal from a p...

Re: Clutch Bump on start and engine brake

imgfx, did you ever figure out exactly what was wrong? I am also having this bump/jerk when in gear during clutch re-engagement, as well as during engine braking right when I let off the throttle. To me, this should be an easy to identify problem, but in my research it sounds like it could be anythi...

Re: Front brake spacers...

The rotor still indexes off the center hub since the depth of the hub stub is much deeper than the spacer. the rotor is centered on the hub stub in the center, as well as the wheel studs. Good to know. I was actually quite worried about this. I just got the car and haven't had a chance to dig into ...

No photo of the car yet, but if anyone makes it out there, could you check for clean, unchipped headlamps and a battery tie-down bracket?

Re: WTB: 1987+ Headlamps

Sorry, I updated my profile. I have an '87 with a chipped headlamp that I would like to replace. The car was built in 1986, but the owner's manual claims it to be a MY1987 vehicle.

Re: Front brake spacers...

I have at least 50k+ miles on my home made alumium spacers. That is a great testament to the accuracy of the conversion and the longevity of the chosen materials. I would advise against stainless, it will not transfer the heat as good as aluminum, and it will add weight to the hub area. these brake...

WTB: 1987+ Headlamps

As the title states, I'm in the market for a set of the facelift headlamps for my Tercel. Only need the passenger's side lamp, but I'll take a pair if that's what is available.

Let me know what you've got.

Re: Front brake spacers...

I am interested in a set, but I have a few questions before plunking down my hard earned cash. Are they still made from aluminum and if so, are they heat treated? Any plans to try using stainless steel? Are your spacers designed to be lug-centric, or hub-centric? Can you confirm the mileage on the h...
