It's been done many times, I first remember reading about one around 2004?

Re: 3 4wd Subaru Justy's
Justys are the black sheep of the Subaru world, they share almost no parts with any other USDM model besides door panel clips and the like. Not bad cars on the whole (avoid the ECVT) but I'd prefer an EA-series hatchback to a Justy any day of the week.

Re: door panel clip?
My Subarus use an identical clip on the door panels, these are pretty universal.

Re: Brake Up-grades MR2 Parts Vented Rotors Corolla Spacer Figs
This is why I always hesitate to use parts from another manufacturer that "fit" but aren't identical, particularly for a safety-critical system like the brakes. However this modification seems to have been performed by at least a handful of members, and while that's a pitifully small sample size, I ...

Re: M/T trans fill/inspection plug replacement
Definitely keep the magnet plug. I kept a few spare magnet plugs kicking around and am glad I did because when I replaced the gear oil on both my 4wd corolla and now my 2wd corolla, I found that neither have magnetic plugs. They have regular drain plugs, and the magnet is mounted inside the trans c...

Re: M/T trans fill/inspection plug replacement
Not a bad idea, honestly. How's the clearance with the taller plug to the transmission tunnel?

I'm not sure that I even noticed after realizing how moldy the interior was, but I'd wager it was a manual.

Re: '87 4WD DLX wagon added to wrecking yard in Arlington, WA on 5/7/2020
Went up to visit the car over the weekend, there were actually two Tercel Wagons there. The '87 ad 355k miles on the odometer, the interior was covered in mold and the headlamps were damaged, or heavily sealed with silicone, so I passed on those as well. Rear axle and transmission had been removed b...

Re: 4th gear shifting issue
Petros, let's start off with a few questions about your specific situation: What brand of 100% synthetic gear oil did you use? What was the weight? How long ago was this fluid change performed? Were your transmission seals new when you tried the synthetic lube, or did they already have 200k+ miles o...

Re: 4th gear shifting issue
(all synthetic is too slippery and all the syncros will not work properly). This statement is just plain false. I'm running a full-synthetic Redline MT-90 GL-4 gear oil in my transmission and it is NOT "too slippery." It certainly shifts better than when I had replaced the original fluid with gener...
