It fit perfectly since it was the same kit (just a different application listing). I also removed the A/C from an 84 ...

When I did a head gasket, I left the intake and exhaust manifolds, as well as the carb, attached to the head. It made it much easier. Less labor and parts.

In regards to your white car pinging....this might give you something to ponder. One of my Tercels, that I bought new, has over 350,000 miles on it. At about 60,000 miles I had noticed it would ping on hot days with a load on it ( A/C on ). I started using mid-grade gas. That solved the problem for ...

A little trick that I use for keeping thread shaving from where you don't want them is to put grease on the tap flutes when tapping. The shavings will embed into the grease as you tap. Remove the tap frequently, clean , regrease, and continue tapping.

Minimum thickness is 10 mm, standard thickness is 11 mm. That's for all stock sedans and wagons of our vintage.

It could be just the brushes in the alternator. About $4 to replace. I did this twice to my alt in the last 350,000 miles.

I had the same problem. New valve stem seals solved the problem. I didn't do anything to the rings and my engine has close to 350,000 MILES on it. You can do the job without pulling the head. (I pulled the head to clean the combustion chamber and piston tops and also to check the valve seat conditio...

xirdneh Thanks for the quick reply and photos on that mounting bracket. Sorry that I haven't gotten back to you sooner. I have been real busy this past month trying to tie up a few jobs, working in a steel mill during their shut down and moving my son back here from Moses Lake. Tomorrow I'm taking o...

I guess I should have been a little more specific. There is a difference between the early IC regulator alternators and the later IC regulator alternators. The earlier alternators have the cooling fan mounted externally (by the pulley). The later IC regulator alternators have an internal cooling fan...
