Re: OREGON 84 Toyota Tercel $600

What isn't smashed on that car looks a whole lot nicer than most of my car. But of course I don't live anywhere near there.

Re: Leaking differential?

Thanks. I already tried an axle that isn't good and I was easy on it but had trouble with it going in at first. Fortunately I called my dad when it did not easily go in, to see if I was missing something important, and he told me to grease some part of it, might have just been the end of the spline ...

Re: Front wheel hubs/bearings

Also some auto repair shops will press it if you bring the whole steering knuckle and new bearing. The hub also has to be pressed in some fashion to remove it from the steering knuckle. I ended up doing the one for my Tercel myself but prior to that for other cars three different shops had done the ...

Re: Weber carburetor questions

Yes. Thank-you, It did help. Though there are still many holes in my understanding I read through it a few times and do understand a bit more now than I did. Looking at the FSM I think my car does not have the EGR vacuum modulator anymore. The lower port on the EGR that I think would have routed to ...

Re: Carburetor Replacement

I have little experience but I would just as soon my recently acquired Tercel had come with a decent stock carburetor and all the original pieces as with the Weber and set up it came with. Probably if I understood carburetors and vacuum systems better I would have an easier time but as it is I can't...

Re: Leaking differential?

Thanks. That is a good guide with information that could be helpful for other questions too. I didn't see the oil after that one day so though I still don't know where it came from I felt better about it then. I plan to change cv axles soon but seals for where those go in are good. The lower part of...

Re: Weber carburetor questions

I was wondering for both the conversion and egr alone, so sounds like if egr is still there it's no good, only if the egr is gone and the conversion has been made for a new port is that a good routing. Petros, I too think it would help if I understood the system better. I'll continue to see about gr...

Re: Weber carburetor questions

Thank-you, at least I know the spacer is missing and that is something to fix. I don't have a facebook account so things on there aren't very accessible to me. Maybe I'll ask on here. Do you know how much height it will add? Just thinking if the carb will still fit under the hood since it sounds lik...

Re: Weber carburetor questions

I'm still looking for help on this, I looked through more posts but didn't quite find many answers. But I did find maybe the egr port is plugged. Like I said; I'm still getting the hang of carburetors. If I don't see a hole right off I assume one doesn't exist...I still didn't figure out which is th...

Weber carburetor questions

I got to looking over Weber vacuum posts and looking at how my car is set-up (how it came when I got it) and I'm having trouble figuring it out. I think I may end up disconnecting all on there and just connecting what dlb suggests in his FAQ guide but even there I got stuck figuring how that would g...

Re: front sway bar removal w/ pics

I used dlb's guide for this, and smokerx's comment (to reassure myself that hitting the large washer with a hammer was fine), a couple weeks ago and found them a help and everything went pretty smoothly. Thanks dlb for taking the time (ten years ago by now?) to put that together.

Re: rock auto not the cheapest option anymore?

I think for me it depends on the part. I bought an inner tie rod end locally for around $19.00 as it was available next day. Looking on RA I see one "economy" option for $4.60 but otherwise they are upwards of $13.29 so only that one would be cheaper. I don't think I checked locally for cv...
